Did you mean to do that ? - single action
« on: April 28, 2021, 08:09:02 PM »

I always trip when in the movies when guys cock the hammer.
If someone pointed a gun at me and cocked the hammer I would shit. It’s a hair trigger at that point based on the revolvers I’ve owned.

Never cock the hammer unless it's time for action

Stop blaming lazy people. We didn’t do anything.

35ish years ago, I had a former roommate do that exact thing to me with Ruger SA in 45LC. All 6 were loaded with shotshells and it was definitely a harrowing experience. The gun was about 6 inches from my face, so missing was not an option. I had moved out a couple weeks before and was coming back for my stuff. He had gotten mixed up with drugs/heroin and I didn't need that shit in my life.
I'd rather have a bottle in front of me, than a frontal lobotomy.

Also cocked hammer with dominant hand thumb, no "left over right"  revolver grip.

Does the phrase, "keep your finger off the trigger",
mean much?  :wtf:

He really should have unloaded the gun if he was going to do that much demonstrating before firing.

Luckily he was pointing in the general direction of "down range."

The safety rules are designed so that you only need to get one of them right to avoid someone getting hurt.

It's easy to get distracted and have brain-farts when talking to a class.  He should take EXTRA precautions to prevent NDs over and above the standard rules.

He looks like a guy who benches and the bar doesn't touch his chest.

That bouncing on his tippy toes that he does after that ND sends me into fits of laughter every time I watch that video. You just know his adrenaline is through the roof at that point.
