YT has some vids of behind the scenes.
Olympic Village, is grouped by countries. Great Brittan has their own condo building and so does the USA. Smaller countries share, but separate by floors. Obviously you don't want people to fight, like if Israel and Palestine shared the same floor. Palestinians won't even judo the Israeli's and rather take a forfeit than touch them.
The food cafeteria is 24/7. All kinds of food, but shitty Asian type bacon (not crispy or brown. Looks more like boiled bacon, which is common in Asia). Sports drinks, coca cola, Fanta, coffee, fruits, all free. They have dividers for each seat at the cafe type benches. But the pastries are all in the open, which I would think would be either served or individually sealed.
They have a laundry service that has a turn around time of 8 hours. Shuttles to the various event areas and even driverless small buses. The cardboard beds can hold 2 people (GB swimmer tested it with his roommate).
Only saw USA and GB, but seems like every athlete gets a goodie bag. Stuff like Oakley shades (4 of them), Galaxy phone, Ralph Lauren clothing, Nike shoes and slippers.
I was watching MyKayla Skinners YT and she has to pack all her own stuff. Like tape, uniforms, etc... They don't have an equipment manager like how pro sports do. Basically just show up and everything is set in your locker for you. Half of 1 suitcase was filled with just athletic tape.
