Why was the Holocaust allowed to happen?
« on: August 27, 2021, 09:10:08 AM »
When taught about it in school, I've always asked this question. And why didn't the Jews who out number their Nazi guards rise up and overrun the camps?

Now I understand.  It's not just the Nazi's who committed the murders, torture, guarded, etc...It's also all the non Jews (German citizens) who went along with the program and bought into the propaganda that they were told.

And the key is it didn't just all start on day 1. It happened in stages (frog in boiling water analogy).  Watched Schindlers List a few months ago and he mentions the dates in the first 30 mins of the film when it came to registration of Jews, relocation, trains, etc...So to refer to my question about why the Jews never fought back, you take little by little, and you change the victims mentality.

Now people often say that this is different and people are not going to be executed.  But we need to also remember, many German civilians were not aware what was being done to the Jews in the camps.  Out of sight, out of mind type of mentality.  Even the US GI's who stumbled on the camps were not aware this was going on.  And Germany wasn't some 3rd world country. But a well educated one.  They had doctors, lawyers, engineers, all buy into what Hitler was saying.  Scientist that stated Jews carry disease and are the problem, stuff like that.

So history may not repeat 100% the same way, but many of the concepts are there. And those who cannot recognize this, are the ones who would turn in their Jew neighbors to the Gestapo.

This is why revisionist history is so dangerous.
Anybody can write and rewrite an historical narrative on a computer.
Much harder to erase a book....but not impossible.
It's been tried before.

Not CV related, but which side was doing book burning within the recent years?  When you're on the side that's burning books, you're probably not on the right side of history.

Excellent movie about a Holocaust denier whose only motivation was to make a living arguing against the historical truth -- a truth he knew had little physical evidence left after the Nazis tried to destroy the files and death camps.

He said "Many German citizens," not all.

If the ones who suspected the rumors of death camps were true turned a blind eye, they passed on the chance to do the right thing.

Then there are the military members and their families who knew of the death camps, but yet they did nothing out of fear or denial.

Many of them rationalized, "Why would Hitler kill the Jews?  Aren't they being used as the workforce to support the war effort?"

Shows how substituting assumptions, feelings and beliefs for unsubstantiated facts can sometimes be the wrong choice.  Better to dig deeper than to take the easy path of compliance.

Jews used as slave labor...german civillians ok with it.

Jews property taken from them...german civillians ok with it.

Jews segregated....german civilians ok with it.

Jews treated badly in public by german military....german civilians ok with it.

Jews looking like theyre starving...german civilians ok with it.

Jews forced to show papers/wear armband....german civilians were ok with it.

All there is for evil to succeed is for good men to do nothing. Guess all the above was ok. History is repeating.

I left out the murdering because many werent aware.

The holocaust was not allowed to happen, it was bound to happen.
Disarmed people cannot easily defend themselves.
Many religions can be particularly Divisive. Jews, Moslems, Hindi, et al generally don't mix well with
other people, so if you stand out in a tyrannical state, you get stomped down.

It is history.  What made WWII so bad is they kept such good records of the atrocities.
Holodomor killed way more many people but records were not well kept.
Chinese Communists killed even more but records weren't well kept.
How many Christians are left in Moslem countries, no records at all?
I could go on.

The import ting to learn is to how not to become the next victims at the hands of "Progressives"
like Democrats, Monarchists, Theocratic regimes,  and such.

The same thing that caused the German population to accept what they saw happening to the Jews is happening here now.  It's been updated and labeled "Critical Race Theory."

When you wonder how anyone could believe that the Jews were somehow the cause of all things wrong in Gernany,
look at how Whites are being blamed for all things they say is wrong with the US.

Same level of racial brainwashing, different time and place.

This I agree with.   Present white people didn't do anything wrong.  Reparations are stupid.  But the difference is race can't be changed. Vaxx status can.   Also race can't kill or infect others.

Off topic.

Not about COVID or vaccines.

Stop being a one-track derailer.

You post the same "shyt" in EVERY topic.  Doesn't make your cross-posting on topic.

He made a SEPARATE THREAD to discuss this topic -- as he should have ... and as you have done several times.  But, here you are refusing to confine your comments to the topic.

You just have to watch the scene where it's snowing in July,  and all the kids are outside playing in it.
Then Schindler realizes what's happening.

There's a reason why Winters went back to the city & made the citizens bury the bodies,  and why they were pissed & disgusted at the citizens who pretended nothing was going on.

Thats why i included that many didnt know about it. But i did post what was visible and how taking part in or doing nothing added to the problem.

And 1 person here is following the same path, but doesnt understand it, even after being told many times. He is not neutral today, but advocates for making life difficult for the unvaxxed. So to say he would have been neutral in the 1930s, i dont buy it.

I went to the Holocaust museum in Israel, it wasn't just the Nazi effort, it was a number of things happening around Europe that slowly made it acceptable to treat the Jews with such contempt. Anti-Jew sentiments grew slowly after WW1, it just culminated with the Nazi final solution.

But if you are trying to find a comparison between that and vaccine passports, I think that is quite the stretch.
