Dan Goo past away recently. He was very active with the Hawaii Rifle Association and Lessons in Firearms Education. If you attended the Legislative Testimonies back when they had them, he was the retired HPD detective that testified he became a police officer so he could help protect the public against criminals, but in reality he could only arrive at the crime scene in time to file a report. Dan and his wife Judy both gave very strong testimonies against more gun laws that would limit the abilities of law abiding citizens to protect themselves. Their testimonies were always met with strong applause.

This is the first I heard about Dan. I am quite sad over this. As you know I volunteered for the HRA SSF every year. And Dan was a big part of that. Rest In Peace my friend. 😢

Yeah  :(

It came as a shock to me when I heard about it a while back.  I had not seen him in a while.  Super cool guy and hosted us at his home many times, for both HRA stuff and just food and drinks.

I clearly recall some of Dan and Judy's testimony.  Judy's testimony always seemed to "hit hard".

Yes Big Al passed away recently too.
I always enjoyed Dan's LIFE class lecture.
I made an audio recording of his lecture which I use when tutoring new gun owners.
It's honest and insightful. If anyone wants a copy, contact me.
