Kokohead restrictions
« on: August 31, 2021, 08:56:33 AM »
Does anyone know if there’s new restrictions at Kokohead range?  I thought the news said the were going to require proof of vaccination.  Anyone hear that?  What about masks…are they requiring again?

Mask wasn’t required this weekend.  Silhouette was every other stall.  We just went this weekend.  Not sure about upcoming restrictions

From the mayor’s website about the upcoming restrictions where vaccination cards and/or neg covid tests will be required.
No one is coming, it’s up to us.

Legislation should never be about depriving law abiding citizens of something, but rather taking those things away from criminals.

Thing is, will KHSC be deemed an outdoor facility or will some knucklehead deem it an indoor facility just because there's a roof over our head.
Sometimes you gotta know when to save your bullets.

It says "indoor portions of... shooting ranges" will be restricted. Kokohead is outdoors so it should be good to go

I believe this is for the commercial indoor ranges.  Then again I could be wrong.  In New York, restaurants built enclosed dining rooms on the sidewalk/curbside and that was considered outdoor dining.

That’s the million $ question.  The clubs that use the bays and silhouette have made adjustments to their operations, not sure what’ll happen with the rifle or pistol ranges.

Hmm under Trump gun shops and ranges were marked as essential services for purposes of Fed Law during COVID. Did Biden get around to undoing that?

That might be grounds for lawsuit?

This is the definition of "Indoors" as written  in Emergency Order NO. 2021-11, 30 Aug 2021

“Indoor” means any space with a roof or overhang that is
enclosed by at least three walls, except that the following
will not be considered an indoor portion: (1) a structure on
the sidewalk or roadway if it is entirely open on the side
facing the sidewalk; and (2) an outdoor dining structure for
individual parties, if it has adequate ventilation to allow for
air circulation.

Kinda of tricky.  The pistol range may be considered "indoor" because it does have a wall of sort in the rear.  However, I would consider the rifle range and club range as outdoor.

I think the key phrase is “covered premises” and how thee order defines them as covered spaces.

"Covered" in the context of the proclamation means the private or commercial business that are considered included.  So, gun ranges and archery ranges is "covered" by the proclamation, making it a “Covered Premises”.  e.g. not covered in terms of being enclosed with 4 walls and a roof.  To determine if the “Covered premises” must check for COVID Passport, it needs to be considered indoors.  Indoors is define as a roof and 3 walls.

Assuming same guy, I've had some interesting convos with him while on his "perch" outside the restroom as well as on the rifle range.  Cool guy and fun to talk with.  I was gonna buy him some new t-shirts, but I bet he'd wear his broken in ones.   ;D
