Presidential Vaccine Mandate and the 2nd Amendment
« on: September 10, 2021, 03:19:45 PM »
This is a very interesting view of how the Presidential Vaccine Mandate and the 2nd Amendment are intertwined.

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/second-amendment-groups-biden-mandate-needle-gun

In summary:  "If Biden is allowed to impose regulations without a vote by Congress simply because he decides it helps ‘public safety,’ there is no limit to what he can do,".  The President has already deemed gun violence a "public safety" issue and will do everything in his power to stripe people of their 2A rights.

I think he was good to mandate to the fed jobs.  Maybe the 100+ employee companies went a bit too far.   I am sure it will be challenged in court.  Then again the republicans can't say shit when they cheered the overreach by the republicans on the abortion issue.

This administration used certain organizations in order to sneak in a mandate, even though they knew it was wrong--Biden used the CDC to extend the moratorium, even though they knew the SCotUS was going to strike it down; Biden used OSHA to force this mandate, which the SCotUS will likely strike down.

That's because the Congress makes these laws, not the President.  The President only signs or vetoes them.

It goes to show you that this administration is willing to break the rules in order to get their way.

No different than when he was VP under Obama.  They played fast and loose with the Constitution and laws to get the ACA law passed.  Afterward, they changed their narrative at least a few times after the truth could no longer be denied.

Same with the unconstitutional DACA Executive Order.  When he gave the press conference statement about it, he said he knew this would not stand, but it would hopefully get Congress motivated to do their job and reform immigration.  Never happened, and Trump killed the XO.

Keep that crap out of here. The abortion issue hides answers major questions with clapbacks and bullcrap. These questions are:

1) When is it a life?  (It's a life if and when I want to have the baby)
2) Who gets to decide if it lives? aka My Body My Choice (women and women only)

Just check your balls at the door.

Truth be Told, I never liked Obama. He was just some junior Senator from Chicago that only made it because he was the first to use Social Media as a platform.  Plenty proud he from Hawaii, but that guy is no local.

Is a virus a substance or agent (like chemicals, liquids, man made dangers).

9 times something similar was done. 6 times they were struck down in court. The other 3 didnt go to court.

You can't fully argue my body my right when you don't do the same for other things.  That's my main point.  If the Republican issue was my body my right on EVERYTHING then I would pay much more credence to their stance.

Democrats do the same thing, but at least they focused on the fact their mandates are more about a spreadable illness.

I do agree there might be some overreach.  But to what extent? Its unknown.  This was replicated in the past with other pandemics with good conclusions.  This is not the first rodeo.  The supreme court has ruled in favor of  mandates previously.  The whole reason we have the judicial system is a check and balance.  All 3 work together to keep each other in  line.  This is the an example of the process working.

Remember now Trump did the SAME thing with his XO's.  The democrats bitched about that.  Now the tide is just reversed.  Both sides do it, and the opposing side bitches.

If your position is based on party lines instead your own sense of morality, then we can never discuss anything productively, because it's just big game of whataboutism, and I'm pretty fed up about that crap.

Argue based on your own values. I value my rights and freedoms, and I'm betting you are on a pro2a forums in a blue state because you hold the same regards--likely at varying degrees.

There is a difference.  The Texas abortion law were voted on by elected official and was supported by SCOTUS (by not putting it on the docket for a ruling).  The Vaccine Mandate was a unilateral decision from one person.  The ability for one person to enact law is what everybody should be afraid of.  i.e. Any time a sitting President wants to enact something without the consent of the govern, all the President would have to say is "Public Safety".  "So let it be written, so let it be done".

I have no party lines.  I don't belong to either and don't like either quite frankly.   My morals are based on science.   I value freedoms that don't affect others.   You don't have the right to harm others.

The vaccine's can be contested the same.   Xos are used by both and fought in the courts.  The immigration and trade war and many others was the same with Trump.  Both sides play the same.  It's part of the process in my mind.  That's why we have 3 parts of this government they all keep each other in check and balance.
