I've been going to the one on Oahu at Kaneohe Marine Corps Base for the past four years now.
I think it's a great event. From what I recall, it's been sold out the past 2-3 years. I probably don't need to explain what it's about and who it benefits, if you're asking about it. All that info is out there.
It usually goes pretty long because of the live auction after dinner. That can go on for hours. One year it finished after 11pm, it's pretty entertaining though! Some interesting stuff in both the silent and live auctions. I got a Front Sight 4-day course certificate a few years back. They had a really cool iron fire-pit with an NRA cut out, and a toaster that imprinted NRA on your toast! Classic!

Those are the more quirky items, they do have legit useful things, as well as guns, knives, etc.
There are other raffle type activities going on throughout the night where kids from various high school air rifle teams (that are volunteering for the dinner) can win air rifles. Pretty awesome.
The buffet dinner is usually pretty delicious, too.
Check it out if you can!
