Thought I'd start a new thread as to not highjack Inspectors one. And this one is a little different because he carries daily for years. Most of us only carry when we go on vacay once or twice a year. So this is more of a noobs POV post.
1) Got my NV CCW and went up this past week to renew it. Its expires every 5 years. When we first took it 5 years ago, out instructor only charged myself and not Mrs. CMO. He wants women to carry. Also at the same trip we went to Green Valley range and was gun shopping for her. The worker too thought it's good for women to carry and shoot, so they didn't charge us the $20 per handgun rental fee. Instead we just paid ammo and $20 range fee.
So this years renewal, he didn't even charge us at all. So what I did was bring goodies from HI and gave him $100 tip. I was even at this time with gambling, so no biggie.
We then went to the Metro police station to hand in our paper work and had to wait 2.5 hours. We got there at 8:45am. When we went 5 years ago, we were done in 12 minutes and the crowd was double 5 years ago than what it was this time. So seems like they're screwing the CCW applicants/renewals. We were talking to others waiting and that is what they mentioned. We had to leave our guns in the car, which is legal to do in NV, no "places to keep" or "to and from" laws.
2) Both I and Mrs.CMO carry appendix IWB. Because when we gamble, we are leaning forward. So if we carried at the 4 or 8 o'clock, the pistol would print.
3) I carried my VP9 and Mrs. CMO her P10C. Both are not small guns, but since it's only for a week, it didn't matter much. But if I did carry daily, I would want something smaller.
4) Some hotels do X-ray your bags if you check them with the bell hop. Palazzo, where we stayed did. They saw my ammo inside the suit case and called me to security when I requested the bags be delivered to our rooms after we checked in. I had 10 rds of a box of 50 in there. They then asked if I was armed and I said yes. So I had to check my gun. It is legal to carry in a casino, but against house rules. So they will tell you to check your gun. No big deal. And if you refuse to do so, then they will ask you to leave. And if you refuse, then trespass you and the cops are involved at this point. So basically, don't get caught.
When I checked my gun, you just leave it in a cubby hole in the armory. Had a few other guns and ammo and mags in other holes. Then when we left the casino a few hours later, I claimed my gun and went about our day. I never checked it in again after this 1st day there. They don't know if you're CCWing or not. And the place is so huge, they're not scanning faces. Especially when everyone is wearing a mask.
They also didn't ask if Mrs. CMO was armed, so we still had a gun in the room. Sexist if you ask me. And when they called regarding my suit case with the ammo, Mrs. CMO picked up the phone. They asked to speak to me and not her. Room is under her name. "Can we speak to your husband".
The rest of the trip, we went in and out of the casino/room and no one stopped us. Plus its about 50 degrees so having a jacket helps hide any printing. This was for the many casino's we played at.
5) The Raiders Stadium has metal detectors, so we had to leave our guns in the car again. We leave it in the glove box and lock it. Leaving the guns in the car for the first time did make me nervous, becuase it's a PITA to buy another one if the car gets broken into. So we rushed our visit there so we can get back to the car.
6) Omega Mart also wands. So again, left the guns in the car. By this time, I wasn't as nervous as the Raider stadium about leaving the guns in the car.
7) Went to a few gun stores, none of the employees wearing mask, even though mandate requires them to. 1 store even told us we can remove our mask. "We're about freedom to choose" is what we were told.

Went to the Strat and super ghetto. But we were armed so didn't worry as much. But still we kept our head on a swivel. I would not recommend anyone stay or gamble there.
9) Sitting while AIWB does suck, but you get used to it. And the pressure points need to change every few hours,so you move your gun over like half an inch and it helps. Also we both noticed our lower backs getting sore. Which is weird because the pistols are on our appendix and never happened before the previous times we carried. My WML on the VP9 touches the boto.
We did lose money, but I look at it as the price we paid to have freedom. Walking around with a few G's in the pocket didn't bother me because I am armed. Compared to here and being unarmed.
