Just thought I’d add that I’ve successfully ordered ammo, and had it delivered to Crary, from Brownells, Midway, SG Ammo, White Birch Armory, and Target Sports.  So far.

Have a few orders this month with Kaleo Arms.  2 orders for .22 lr and one for some 6.5 CM.  Can’t wait till end of the month.

FWIW, Kaleo has some 9mm, 5.56, 22LR and some 7.62x39 listed on their web page, their March pallet.  shipping included, plus tax.

Trying to figure out which mainland dealers to use as first ammo source. Midway has a good rating on ammoseek.com, but a low rating on Trustpilot and BBB. Selway Armory (Missoula, Montana) has a good rating on ammoseek, yelp, and facebook. Their website is not set up as professionally as Midway. How do you decide which place to give your business?

IMO, Midway is GTG.  I'm sure Midway gets a lot of complaints from Karens that the AR-Stoner stuff isn't KAC/LMT quality.
it sounds like, from your research, that Selway is also GTG.  I'll have to check them out.

for me, web site sophistication is not a selling factor, as long as they show correct in-stock, out-of-stock, and order status, shipping details under one of the tabs for my online account.  smaller ammo-specific houses are not going to have the IT, web developer budgets that the big shooting mega-supermarket emporiums have.  That's cost savings that hopefully gets passed on to the customer.

shipment turn-around time would be a factor if i'm trying to get it delivered to Crary ND before the announced Kaleo cut-off date, so can't have 14-days before they ship it if you're 10 days out.

SGammo is awesome. And most cases of ammo and I think most orders of $200 or more ship for free right now. I have used them multiple times to ship ammo to Kaleo arms in North Dakota and then to Hawaii. SG ammo is very reputable and has a lot of unique single lot government contract overrun ammo that is top notch. And a ton of specialty ammo and lots of options for good mil-spec sealed case mouth/primer ammo. SGammo runs live inventory and actually right now with the way ammo availability is SGammo removes the link so you can’t even see the item link/webpage if it is out of stock.

Thanks guys, for sharing information about on-line ammunition suppliers.  Good to hear first hand input as to the reliability and credibility of ammo suppliers. :shaka:

They seem to have very good reviews on the web, with a 4.3/5 rating on Trustpilot, one of the toughest business rating organizations around. I was unable to use SGAmmo for Eley Match and Tenex ammo. Hawaii residents have to pay sales tax and UPS ground shipping to ND for the rarer ammo's. Let me tell you that Barrett .50 BMG is the hardest ammo to find for a production rifle, and I had to use Selway Armory to procure this. The price of being a gun enthusiast in HI is unbelievable.

Jennifer emailed me that her company will be at the September gun show at Blaisdell.

just got my delivery on the July pallet.  For this order, I ordered from Brownells, Sportsman Fullfillment, Midsouth Shooters Supply, LAX Ammunition, and Recoil Gunworks, delivered to Crary, ND.  all ammo buys found using the AmmoSeek tool.  All successful purchases, deliveries.

Awesome!  What did you get from LAX Ammunition? Did you use code "GarandThumb"  ;D

Kaleo Arms is awesome.  I haven't put in an order for the last two shipments.  Getting withdrawals.

didn't know about the GT promo code, shucks.  got some Hornady 6.5CM from LAX Ammo, not cheap, but at least available, and better priced than other places.  Then I found out that Recoil Gunworks had the same price, but free shipping (to Crary), ouch!  kinda adopting the mind set that you gotta get what you can get, when you can get it.  AmmoSeek helps in the "shopping around", starting to use the price alerts on that search tool.  The "decent-priced" ammo gets sold-out quickly, can't even call it "good-priced" because of price inflation.

Ahh, 6.5 CM.  I had bought a bunch of Hornady 140gr ELD-M and some Berger from a variety of suppliers.  One was Creedmoor Sports.  Yeah, you get what you get.  6.5 CM ammo, especially Berger, is touch to get.  Plus some companies still enforcing limits.

Average shipping cost to have ammo sent here through them?

Average shipping cost to have ammo sent here through them?
it's hard to say because I don't have a per-item breakdown (nor do I want one if it's going to result in more cost overhead).  I also don't know the shipping weights of the ammo, because some vendors get discounted shipping, some have free shipping (if you shop around).  UPS/Fedex don't always provide the accurate shipping wt.  This last shipment, I was a little worried because UPS said the box they were shipping to Crary only weighed 2#.  for a case of 6.5CM.  Thought I was in for a surprise, paid for a case, getting a box?  But no, that's how they did the shipping discount.  It was a full case definitely more than 10#.  sigh-of-relief.

it's going to vary depending on the current shipping cost, fuel cost, size of the shipment, etc.  I'm guessing about $2.50 a pound at this time, +/-.  So I'm guessing an 11-pound case of 6.5CM (200rds) costed me an additional $28 (appx) for the Kaleo service.  Next shipment might be more, probably won't be less, FJB.  When you order the ammo, your credit card pays for shipping, tax to get it to Crary ND.  When the pallet lands in HI, Kaleo sends you their on-line bill for your stuff, lump sum, one line-item, one number.

I guess it comes down to, is the ammo you want available locally?  and at what price?   if it's not available locally at all, now you have a ball-park estimate of how much it'll cost, landed, to your house.

I was able to get a case of 9mm from them a while ago, but was a dead end when I inquired about getting other ammo. I know they're pretty busy and most of the time Jen is responsive with the emails.

i think that due to the volatility of todays ammo market, the process has changed.  Instead of Jen finding the ammo you want for you (e.g. Personal Buyer), now, you find the ammo you want (you can use AmmoSeek), and you purchase it from the vendor (e.g. Brownells, Midway, SG Ammo, etc), and use Kaleo Crary ND as your shipping address (i.e. Ammo Freight Forwarder).  Attractively-priced ammo sells out quickly on the mainland, too quickly for the quote-response system to work, IMHO.

when Kaleo brings in a pallet, sometimes they bring in a few cases of high demand ammo and list it on their web-page.

I picked up a few cases of those "high demand" ammo on their website a few times
Kaleo Arms is a great service that no other ammo supplier provides here in Hawaii
I've also done pre orders too
Kaleo Arms gets 2 thumbs way up!

Kaleo Arms provide an essential pipeline to get ammo when LGS can’t or aren’t willing to provide. The ship to them is a great option and provides flexibility to shop around for what one wants/needs, especially sales. The cost have jumped, but commensurate to shipping and logistics cost inflation. Additionally, I am personally willing to pay a premium to keep the service going.

I hope Kaleo continues to service Hawaii's 2a community with an alternative way to obtain ammunition when the LGS cannot accommodate.

Being how anti-2a Hawaii is, it's great that there are suppliers like Kaleo Arms that can provide ways to obtain ammunition despite the communist regime we currently suffer under.

Very happy to see many members here support Kaleo Arms. :shaka:
