USA Today posted a whole list of fact checks about videos and information being shared on social media.
Lots of Fake shit. Or things out of context. Some of the videos being shared were events that happened before the invasion during the Crimea annexation and even unrelated events that happened in other parts of the world, according to USA Today.
I did have some reservations about the validity of some videos. There was one being shared of demolished Russian armored vehicles destroyed by the Ukrainian military. The vehicles look all rusted, like they were sitting out for years. Unless rust sets in immediately in that part of the world.
I mean they definitely were destroyed by Ukraine. But doesn't look like recently. More like earlier during the fighting after the Crimea annexation.
This is why for any invasion, it's important to control the flow of information. Or any narrative in general, which we have seen since 2016. I mean you still have people who think election fraud didn't happen even though documentation of it has been show. They think Trump is in with Putin and other TDS related issues, etc...
I refer to the invasion of Poland in WW2 because I learned about it in school. Hitler controlled the air waves and stated that Poland attacked Germany. Which we know now is untrue.
So like hvybrls said, we could go crazy trying to figure out what's real and not. So I take it as sort of entertainment if you want to call a war that. But IDK how else to put it. The pics of the Ukraine pres in a kit are from older photo times. I admit I got duped. Who knows if the ghost of Kyiv is real. But what I say has more truth to it are the videos. But even with that, I dont' speak Russian so how do I know the translation is accurate. And many have hundreds if not thousands of comments. I'm not going to spend time reading them in hopes someone who speaks Russian states other wise.
But Ukraine is winning the info war. I don't see much if any at all vids/pics of the Russian military. The only one that I did see was a vid of guys complaining their MRE's expired in 2015. But I don't speak Russian so maybe they're complaining there's no Jalapeno Cheese Spread.
