Collard greens are easy to grow, hard to kill and keep producing.

When I was a kid on Molokai in the early sixties, the poi factory there would sell a 3.5 bag of poi for $1.00.

Yep.  I hope the collards grow well for me.  And agree on the poi.  It's so expensive now. :(

I used to travel all over the Hawaiian islands a lot for work and Molokai is a special place. I stayed there a couple weeks at a time annually for many years. A vendor sold poi for $2.50 per tub to fill up my large cooler as I traveled back to Oahu. Plenty of Molokai bread too always a best seller!  I miss the people there such a special place!

Go back to grandma's house, pillage the mango tree and the banana trees. Buy eggs from chicken farm. Try to reconquer old 8bit games at home. Don't carry debt except my mortgage.buy everything with an airline card but payoff every time, so 1 year 15k in purchasing gets me a one way ticket to most places in USA for free. Or 1 interisland round trip

Let us know how you are cooking/serving kale. I cannot handle the raw stuff. My wife is growing some kale and so far so good.

Steam kale and add some Oyster sauce.
 Try making kale "chips".

Not a saving $ thing, but kind of related. Due to supply shortages, instead of waiting until I'm almost out of something, I have been buying once I get half empty. Stuff like face wash, protein powder, preworkout supplement, vitamins, etc...The essential stuff, I got enough stocked and use LIFO usage and resupply as each item is used up.

Actually that's a good thing.  I don't trust how reliable the supply chain will be in the upcoming months.  For me, I'm slowly stocking up on bulky items such as TP and paper towels.

Long ago when I was working at Foodland, there was a TP shortage from a dock strike.  Priority space was given to smaller commodities and stuff like TP, paper towels, and diapers were at the end of the line to be loaded on containers.

Now with the rising costs of diesel for delivery trucks and supply chain issues, I wouldn't be surprised the same thing happens again.

I'm playing safe so if the time comes I can sit in front of the TV and watch other people fight in lines to get their supplies.

Also want to add that I saw somewhere that by August gas will be $7 a gallon.  That prediction is for nationwide, not just for places like Commiefornia.

Also saw another meme that showed biden next to Jimmy Carter.  Both were smiling above a headline that said "Here we go again!!!"

The meme was referring to gas rationing.

For those too young to remember, the gas rationing of the 70's were no fun.

Let's Go Brandon!  Forever and ever and twice on Sunday.  Amen.

76 on Pensacola, $5.88 for 93 octane.

Since the prices will continue to rise, but not as often as a few months ago, topping off instead of waiting till empty would save a few dollars.

I don't go to the range, range too far. Saves on gas and ammo I don't shoot and guns I don't buy.

And the criminals save money by stealing. your stuff and gas.  They figure it is worth it because they know they are going to get released in a couple hours if they get caught. What is another arrest on the record if they already have 20 or more priors.
