I had a package which was supposed to contain two BCG’s arrive cut open and empty.  I had to contact palmetto and they started the ups damage claim and said I have to just sit tight till the ups investigation is complete (15days) and then they can refund or re-ship the order.

There’s a bunch of “news” on the internet and YouTube regarding UPS change in policy regarding shipping of guns.  I have a rifle supposedly coming in next week…hopefully doesn’t get confiscated or damaged.

I had a rifle shipped to an FFL via UPS that was received 27 June.  Box looked ok.  Since then, I've received one shipment from Midway USA via UPS and have on en route from PSA.  So fingers crossed. . .

My understanding is; UPS stopped shipping handguns, in the middle 1990's
When BJ Clinton was president. That is why I only use FedEx.
UPS has no idea what you are shipping. Nor does FedEx.
As long as it is not HAZMAT or illegal stuff( eg. violating Federal laws) you are not legally
obliged to tell them what it is.  I call them precision machine parts.
It may violate their corporate policy, but they aren't going to catch you or prosecute.
Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Also fedex just recently changed their policy and does not allow individuals to ship handguns to FFL’s anymore. Handguns must now be FFL to FFL all the time.

That's the kind of extreme policy that will land this issue in court.

We're told by the ATF we (nonlicensee) can ship handguns using any common or contract (non-USPS) shipping company, but then those shippers suddenly refuse to accept firearms from anyone without an FFL.  Sounds like another lawsuit just waiting to happen.

Quote
A nonlicensee may ship a firearm by a common or contract carrier to a resident of his or her or her
own state or to a licensee in any state. A common or contract carrier must be used to ship a handgun.

In addition, federal law requires that the carrier be notified that the shipment contains a firearm or
ammunition, prohibits common or contract carriers from requiring or causing any label to be placed
on any package indicating that it contains a firearm and requires obtaining written acknowledgement
of receipt.

Fwiw last nov. Ups shipped my mossy 500. Box was fine. Had some scratches but I dont think it was ups. Everything was packaged like a puzzle. A very neat puzzle.

My midwayusa box came last Friday. It only contained spare springs. No damage and all contents inside. Got another midwayusa box coming this Wednesday. Hopefully my buttstock will be there.

My rifle arrived to the FFL today via UPS.  I think the ones that might have issues are the unserialized parts.  I was readying some of the blogs on the internet…seems like they are policing ghost guns/parts.

Yes sir. It arrived today. Just 1 day late. But its to be expected via UPS mail innovations. Sometimes I get it a week later than projected. I think fedex has something similar. In this case, UPS picks up the item or items then transfers it to Usps for final delivery.

Over the past week I received orders from Midway and PSA via UPS. Both arrived in perfect condition and actually early. One order had firearms parts and the other had an optic. All good.
