When me and the wife want to go for a walk, we don't want to be bothered, by either the 2-legged kind or the 4-legged kind.

I didn't have to read the story to know what breed was involved.

I'm sure they were raised from puppies, played with the grandkids and never hurt a soul ... until they got loose and killed the neighbor for no reason other than they are PIT BULLS.

I can only imagine the media firestorm against the CCW holder. He/she was a good dog. The dog was unarmed. Not fair! All the pet lovers will call for the death penalty.

There are plenty of good pit bulls out there that are wonderful with kids. The breed just happens to be popular with the worst kind of owners and when they do attack someone they do a lot of damage because they are athletic hunting dogs.

But yeah if you see a dog shredding someone you should be able to shoot em

I love animals and dogs are on the top of my list.

But yeah, if there is a need to, I'll cap their ass in a minute.

Same as humans.  But I think dogs are higher on my list.

It's not that the breed of dog is "good or bad," it's just that pits are bred to be relentless and lethal.  It's in their nature.

All dogs (since they are animals) have instincts they often follow versus training.  I've seen cats and dogs let toddlers crawl on them, pull on them, chew on them and carry them around like stuffed animals.  I think that's their instinct where they know that's the "baby" and nothing -- even the pet -- is allowed to hurt the baby.  They protect the children in the home as their own.

The problem is, when a dog decides to attack another animal or  human, how dangerous is that animal potentially able to become?  Most other breeds don't attack & attack & attack.  When they see the opponent retreat, they usually quit attacking.  They might follow and bark to warn them away, but not continue the attack.  Once the pit gets a jaw latched onto its target's body, the dog will hold on.  Getting them to break off is nearly impossible without enough force or injury to the dog.

It's a case of -- when the bad thing happens (dog attacks), would you rather have a pit bull coming after you or pretty much any other breed?  Even German Shepherds are less aggressive unless trained to be working dogs.

I use the analogy of owning a tiger.  If that thing gets loose, how much damage could it do to pets and people versus an ordinary house cat?  Some animals are too dangerous based solely on their breed/species to be pets unless the owner ensures the animal is always under their control.

The owner has a responsibility to keep his SEVEN PIT BULLS under his control.  That obviously didn't happen.  It could get worse for the owner if investigators find this is not the first time any of his dogs have done something like this.  You get one "freebie."  After that, you know your dogs have the potential of hurting other pets and humans.

Before I owned Rottweilers, I had Pitbulls for about 12 years. Raised them from pups and they were were gentle and non aggressive.  My Rottweilers are far more likely IMO, to attack someone uninvited entering my property than the Pits I had. Rottweilers are more territorial and protective and also have a bite force 40% greater than a Pitbull.  90% of the time it is the owner's fault for a dog that attacks someone for no reason.

Just imagine if the guy being attacked had managed to kill a few of the damn dogs, who would be in trouble, the dog owner or the guy defending himself?

In Hawaii, the guy defending his life. Dogs, like perps have rights too.

Show your ATF badge. They are licensed to kill all dogs

Many years ago when I lived in WA state I had to walk about 1/4 mile to my mail box.
I had a concealed carry license.
One day one of the neighbors dogs got loose and started an attack like the one in the video.
The dog was a Rottweiler.
I pulled my gun out aimed and shouted.
The animal stopped. I then advanced.
I had every intention of stopping that animal at the next hint of aggression.
It turned and I walked it back to it's home.
It disappeared once on its property. I knocked on the door and advised the owner of the problem.
and let them know some of my kids checked the mail.
I never saw that dog again.
BTW we also had black bears follow you around there to boot.
They were better behaved.
additionally I didn't get my mail that day.

Wouldn't surprise me one bit.  Hawaii is a kumbaya state.  They coddle criminals as misunderstood and underprivileged victims.

Even though these "victims" has been arrested a million times.  Still misunderstood.  Still underprivileged.

As for the poor law-abiding citizen?  Property damage?  Injury? Death of a loved one?  Tough shiite.  Suck it up.  Be more forgiving.  We must take care of each other.

In a "fair" society, what's yours is also theirs.  No matter that you worked hard for what's yours while they stay home and collect welfare but wear plenty bling -bling.  If you have $100 and they have $20 you must give them $40.

This is the demokrat way.  And by the way, don't forget to pay your taxes.

Sorry.  Got carried away.  Way off topic.   :stopjack:
