There are about 17ppl in front of me, by the first pillar.

Anyone know a fun game I can play in line?

Out at 2:28 all said, less than an hour and a half from start to finish.  Not too bad.  Still A LOT of people around though.

Just some words of advice:
1. Bring something to entertain yourself with.
2. Bring a small chair.
3. Keep an eye on your meter time.
4. When you get close to the inner door have your ID and paperwork ready.
5. DON'T FORGET YOUR PAPERWORK (saw one guy have to leave after waiting in line for over an hour just cause he forgot his affidavit).

oh man.   I bet if he asked someone to hold his place in line, he could have went home, came back, found parking, and got back inline before his place would have been pasted.

Good advice.  One more:

6. Verify the name, address serial number(s) on your permit when you register (before you sign and take the top copy).   Guy in front of me found out when he got home that they had mistyped the serial number on his permit and had to wait in line again!

Good one!  Yeah always take the time to double check that stuff, with how fast those guys and gals at the counter are working and how many requests they get a day, errors are bound to happen.

Has the line at hpd always been like this, or is it just been the past 2 months?  I cant imagine people having to wait in lines like that for hours and hours every single time every single day of the week theyre open. I really hope it begins to die down in the future cause honestly its ridiculous.   >:(

No it hasn't always been like this.  Things kinda exploded in December after Sandy Hook unfortunately.  The last time I bought a gun was exactly 1 yr ago in Feb, and back then I was complaining how 4 people standing outside the inner door was ridiculous.  Things might get better, or they might get much worse.  Tough to say really.

I'm hoping that this level of gun purchasing becomes the new normal.  Inconvenient it may be, but better than the alternative.....

In at 7:45 and out by 8:15! No one past the door when I left. Not bad at all.  :shaka:
Shoot safe. Shoot straight.

Yeah.  I remember going there and thinking that the line was long if there was more than say 5 people in line outside by the finger printing area.

My registration paper had couple "typos" with dates. I went to register today and its was typed with a date of 2-23-13.  Where it's says date finger printed, it was dated 2-2-28. I told officer at window about the 2-2-28 date and he just corrected it himself (ballpoint pen action). I didn't notice the 2-23-13 date till I got home. Made a phone call to the firearm section and was told that it should be ok and that it will be corrected on their end. All the important info was correct though EX: serial number and stuff!  What made it more funny was that on my original permit, my expiration date my permit will expire was written something like 3-8-12. Today was just not a good day for dates!   ???

That's ok I bought a benelli shotgun used. They used the serial number off the barrel rather than the one in the receiver for the pervious registration. Long story short. They figured it out and used the correct serial.

Did you ever fix it, or just left it "as is"?

Did not fix it. They already have one from other guns..don't want to drive out there again..let alone wait in line...unless im supposed to have it correct.. 8)
