wow is all I have to say about the line today!!!

went the first time at 9:30am to pick up my permit and it were 4 people in line in front of me, took 5 mins to get thru the line because I guess every one was just picking up permits.

Went to go pick up my gun and came back to reg it at 10:30am and there was 1 person in front of me (took less then 1 mins for me to get to the front of the line...), after me there was no one in line for about 10 mins and then 2 or 3 people showed up, they got serviced in about 5 mins (permit pickups) and then another 20 mins with not a single person in line...  no line, at all.  There was actually a line forming for the outside glass window (idk what that line is for).  The person behind the glass keep calling because I guess he can't see around the doorway and there was just nobody there at all!  Total time wait for me today to get in and out for both permit and gun reg = 35 mins.  It took me longer to get to the police station fighting the freaken traffic (and I live less then 5 miles away!) then actually waiting!!!

I keep hearing there were super long lines and I was prepared with a fully charged phone (with extra battery) stocked full of games, a seat so that I didn't have to stand up for like 4-6 hours, and total wait time in line was less then 7 mins total!  Hell I even packed a lunch in my car but never got to eat it (I feel sorta cheated).

Wow that's awesome!  Must not be that much stuff to buy in stores nowadays.  I'd rather have brought all my stuff to wait for a long time and have nothing happen, than to have nothing and then have to wait 4 hrs.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Drove by around 5:40 am.  There were a bunch of people waiting in line.  I would guess at least 10 people waiting in line from the double doors extending to the metal detectors.

Drove by at 9:30 am (Wed). Looked like 6-7 people standing in line inside of the double doors.

You can actually see inside?  I must be in a super low car or something cuz I can't see anything inside when I drive by, plus I'm ususally going like 25-30mph so I dont the time to get that good of a look I guess.

either way, I wonder if there is less panic buying or if there was just nothing worth buying on the shelves.

The window venetian blinds make it difficult to see inside but if you drive slowly past HPD, you can see the heads of those standing inside leaning against the finger printing station on the side countertop unknowingly staining their shirt,  pant and elbows with fingerprinting ink.

Just left HPD. Got there at 3:45 and found that the firearms registration section was closed. The clerk at the fingerprinting window informed me that HPD locks the double glass doors at 3:30 and only services those inside at the 3:30 mark. She said hat if they didnt do that, they would be registering firearms all day long.  I can understand the policy if the line snaked around the buliding but no one was there and HPD could have continued to process registrants up until 4 pm like they normally do. Am i missing something here?

im assuming you were right in that regards but i bet they took the rest of the day off instead of serving the tax payers. I was there and got out before the street tow trucks with some minutes to spare. Sorry mr fark it was a good day to do some registering.
