I got there at 630 this morning, and was #13 in line. Picked up my permits and was out the door by about 815. Line seemed to be a constant 15 - 20 people or so. When I came back after picking up my stuff, the line was at the fingerprint station. I had the honor of standing behind Dr. Cooper, who was passing out a petition to request additional registration/permit stations on Oahu. Left at about 1100, but will have to go back one more time this afternoon because of wonky paperwork on a private transfer. Nowhere near as good as the stories we heard from yesterday, but it's still 100x better than two weeks ago, when I went to apply for the permits.

Other than a typo on my registration the day went pretty smooth.

I guess closing at 3 p.m. regardless how many people are waiting outside is the biggest policy change during the past four months. Geez!!! What about serving the taxpayers!?!

... and out by 2:30!  A new record for me since Nov 2012 ... about 1 & 1/2 hours!!

A friend got there about 2:00 and was done in just over an hour, too. This afternoon, the line stayed between 0-3 people waiting outside.  Most of the time, the line was 100% inside the double doors.

Dr. Max Cooper.  He handles a lot of the legislative stuff for HRA and SRGC.
