problem is, "long lines" is no longer a good argument for the city council testimony
current long lines non-existent, i guess we have to say that it will prevent long lines in the future

I think convenience should also play a role.  Not everyone lives and/or works near town.

i agree
just sayin' that we no longer have the long lines argument currently
we need to present a range of reasons why they should open up registration to more locations

I think convenience should also play a role.  Not everyone lives and/or works near town.

Have to come back here after 10 when OGC opens, so don't rush down!  :)

I think the long lines argument is still valid because it actually happened very recently. We all had to suffer for more than four months, waiting in outrageously long lines. Plus the officers working behind the window probably dreaded coming to work and having to handle quadruple plus paperwork than normal.

Besides the recent long lines, the best reason for multiple locations and registration is that Oahu has the majority of the state's population but just one location for registration/permitting while the neighbor islands have far less people with some islands having multiple registration/permitting sites.

And, if the Satellite City Hall concept works for motor vehicle registration and driver's license renewals, it can certainly work for firearms registration and permitting.

So Moosed taking less than 2 hrs to pick up HG registration,  go to get HG and go back to register.  Looks like its back to pre madnesss lines.  Guess no need to take more than $5 in quarters to park.

I'm just imaging the big eyes you'll see when registering ur guns at satellite city hall.

"Oh my god!!! It's a gun!!!" I can already see it happening.

Anyone remember there were satellite city halls on wheels back in the day?

"Back in the day?"  I grew up in North Carolina, where the only thing related to firearms on wheels were pickups and back-window racks!  That's because there was no need for a mobile city hall.  The government there was much less obtrusive than here.  You paid a few taxes, filed a few real estate deeds, and bought firearms like you bought anything else.  Not until the Brady bill were guns registered, and even today there are no long gun registrations.  Plus they allow open carry in public.

Some peoples' "good old days" are better than others'!!   .
