Registered a shotgun today and chatted with them about online forms. i filled out the firearms reg form ahead of time  and hpd accepted it.  The key is to only fill out your personal info.  They fill out the vendor and gun info.  Sign it after they fill out their part.

Went today to register my gun, wish a worker came out to ask if anyone was there just to pick up there permits . It would've been faster , otherwise 8 people in front of me took about 30 including the wait to receive my gun registration

Hmmmmmm...

I filled in everything on the forms, except for the sections designated for "Witness."

No issues with my registration.

Perhaps HPD is still trying to figure this out themselves.

6/5/13 - Arrived at ~10:15am, 1 person in front of me.  Applied for permit, left at ~10:30am with 1 person in line.

In regard to my pre-filled forms, firearms division took:
1. Medical Information Waiver
2. Mental Health Waiver
3. Firearms Application Questionnaire

They made me re-fill out the Firearms Information Form (carbon copy one) and fill out the FBI form (not available on HPD's website).

Someday someone may kill you with your own gun, but they should have to beat you to death with it because it is empty.
