Noticed much more 2a support from shops and other groups who I've never seen at any hearings or written testimonies for bills in the legislative session.
The following stores/org's were present: Young Guns, Kaneohe Gun Shop, Danger Close Tactical, Northshore Marksman, Peter Abraham, HRA, Red Letter Industries, Mission Bravo. Maybe more and I just didn't see them.
The Chief and HPD brass were outside mingling with the people.
Had about 150 or so pro 2a, maybe 10 anti. Only 1 MDA (red shirt). But she brought a few more shirts with her to hand out.
Had a lady outside yelling at people "why do you need a mag more than 10rds"
Talked to a Civil Affairs cop (brown aloha shirt) and he said they were there to keep the peace if a debate outside gets out of hand. He stated the 1A is a protected right, so you guys can talk all you want. But if it gets violent, then they will step in.
None of the cops had a pissed off look on their faces. Like we wasting their time when they should have been off today kind of attitude.
HPD was very organized. They had the line, then letting in 3 at a time (go thru metal detector), then into the room as people left.
Ilima Decosta us again using her daughters suicide to push more gun laws. But she never states her daughter committed suicide, instead her testimony made it sound like the daughters husband killed her. Even though on her FB page she wrote to Obama about it and said suicide.
Funny story, I was outside talking with a friend and Logan approaches me and says "Hi enter real name" with his hand out (shake hand). My friend asked if I knew the chief and I said no. So we were tripping for about 20 mins, when Andrew said the chief asked him who I was because I was dressed professionally, so Andrew told him my name. So this brings me to what I've said b4, dress nice and not tactical looking. Due to my attire, the chief made an effort to approach me and chit chat. We didn't talk business, but about Vegas.
Overall, this was done well and a noticeably different tone. But we shall see what changes they make. Because I rather have a hostile welcoming, but remove much of the rules than a nice welcoming and the same bad rules.
HPD set up 2 TV's so people in line can watch since only 12 were let into the room at a time. The room is small.
Overall, it seems like HPD/Logan were very accommodating, which is a breath of fresh air.
Logan was not present inside the room, as it would be a conflict of interest. Like the chief making his own rules. Had the asst. chief, 2 captains, and 2 civilians.
