Misplaced Long Gun Permit
« on: October 05, 2022, 06:17:10 PM »
How do I go about getting a copy of my long gun permit to acquire if I have misplaced it.  Do i have to go through the whole two week process or is it just a matter of  going down to the station and asking for a duplicate?  Mahalo in advance for your help...

I am pretty sure you have to do the whole process again. And I was told you need to make a police report since it is an “official” government document (kind of like it was stolen).

That’s what they told me when I couldn’t find mine previously. So I ended up tearing my house apart and found it instead.

I just thought of them as paper refuse from an overbearing state.

What a laugh now in Arizona, just show state ID, a CCW permit, and it is cash and carry.   They are aghast at the idea of having to get permission to buy a rifle.

If you don't manage to find it at least they provide it via email now so you can save the attachment and print a new copy any time you need to.

Some people opted to pick up the hard copy instead of email copy. Or maybe OP got it before they started emailing them out.

I have had them print me out a copy when I didn't have one. No 2 week process or extra paperwork.

I am replying late because I didn't notice your comment.  I was aware that OP only had a physical copy that they lost.  I guess I wasn't clear in my comment but it was made simply to point out that if they had to do the process over again using the online would assure they don't lose it again. This way hey would have an electronic copy they could keep in their email, or place on a cloud drive or something like that.

Of course this is the better option.
