Ohhhh snap. I understand why.

Is his model the tungsten frame or non?  But no matter really cause faulty spring was to blame.

Saw the video while eating my lunch earlier. I've been looking at the XFive Legion and heard decent things about them, none really bad till now. Really unfortunate situation, but wondering if anything on the gun was modified?

Not really related, but came across another video where a P365XL (I think, or one of the other Sig Sauer carry guns) wouldn't fire when trigger pulled, but after when user shook it.

He didn' t mention any mods, but per SIG, they blamed it on a defective spring. So I don't think this part was modded.  Or if it was, SIG would not offer to replace.

I'm going to go shake the XL now when I get home.  It does go into the holster and doesn't go click, that I know for sure.

Hard to tell if he's breaking the wall while shaking, or wall is broken then it fires after shaking.

It's far different from the Taurus 24/7 video firing while shaken, with no trigger pressed.

Thanks for the vid. "during dry fire, the delay was noticeable" (when he just bought the gun and didn't go to shoot it yet).

I just tried it on mine, at the wall, not yet broken. Shook it hard enough to break and what do you know…

Have yet to have mine not engage the striker immediately after i pull the trigger. I’m guessing that’s their claim.

Yeah, as long as your gun goes click, you don't have this problem.  TBH, I would not have confidence in a gun that had a delayed click and was told by CSC to "break her in".  I would want a refund or replacement.  Jams are 1 thing, like the Shadow Systems CR920, they tell you to break her in 200 rds. Which many have had jams, but gun still went bang/click.

I’m too old for drama of any kind, especially from brand fanboys. Unless i see some definitive and rational explanation then I see no reason why to discontinue using the pistol.

If you’re going with users discretion and stop using the firearm, do so knowing that you’re making a choice based off either heresay or the crap typical fanboys sling at each other.

Ya. Trust but verify. I don’t know the guy. Don’t have a reason to not believe him either. Will do own testing and stuff.

Did a shake and impact test on the P365XL and Shield Plus. Both passed.

For reference, when you hit the back of the VP9 with a hammer or rubber mallet, this will cause a dead trigger.  As in you press the trigger and nothing. So you need to rack the slide again to reset the trigger.  The firing pin does not release (gun doesn't go bang).  Only the trigger is not usable.  And this has to be done with a hammer due to the force needed to accomplish this. So hitting it with your hand will not duplicate it.  Dropping it on carpet also would not duplicate this. Hard drop on concrete probably will, but has to be specifically at the back of the slide (near striker plate).  All other areas will not duplicate this.  So if the gun lands on it's side, you will be OK.

Interesting on the VP9.  How did folks come up with that?  They noticed the dead trigger after say something hit their gun while in the holster?  Or folks testing to try to find things?

Was during the P320 drop safe issue. Guys were banging/dropping it with a rubber mallet to see if the gun fires like how the P320 did.  I didn't look into if other guns do the same.

So bascially, folks testing and trying to find things.

There was 1 vid where the guy loaded with primer only in brass. He did the P320 and it went "pock" firing pin hit the primer. Then did the malet test on the VP9 and no pock, but dead trigger. So tap rack solves this if a dead trigger were to happen in real life.

Focus

So da range rules for a Sig P320 is to carry it unchambered and without a magazine. Insert magazine and rack the weapon when you're ready to fire. Make safe when you re-holster. Got it.

I own 2 Sigs, and the video makes me very wary of the safety of the gun(s) for concealed carry.

I used my brand new P320 Nitride full size 9mm at the Front Sight Defensive Handgun class.  The only 2 issues I had were:

1. During the "fire 2 rds - perform a tactical reload - bring sights on target again - take up slack on trigger - make decision to not fire - trigger finger off trigger" exercise, I had an unintentional discharge taking up the trigger slack.  My trigger had close to 0 travel between start of pull and discharge.  At least I hit the target!

2. I've had this occasionally happen on other guns: inserting a fresh mag with slide locked back causes the slide to release forward without hitting the slide release or pulling back on the slide.  Happened more often than not.  More of a "plus" than a "minus" IMO.

Since that was a CCW class, I was conscious of how well the pistol would perform in real life.  I had the trigger module upgraded under the Sig "voluntary upgrade" program to fix the drop-discharge design issue.

Anyway, I wouldn't lose any sleep if I carried the P320.  Glock boasts "Perfection,' but no pistols are perfect.  Look at the number of people having an ND with Glocks.  The #1 design issue with Glocks in my mind is the need to pull the trigger in order to remove the slide.  All my other pistols will allow the slide to come off without pulling the trigger first.
