Reminded me an older video —>

To use a car analogy, if a PSA AR-15 is like a Honda Civic w/ automatic transmission, a good lever action is like a stick shift…you play an integral part in the machine’s operation.

As a guy who has had to deal it in the past.
They don't freeze up in winter. You can always break it loose.
ever notice what Alaska guides use?
In very cold weather you have to leave your bolt actions or Semi outside.
Most people like to keep their guns close and inside.
warmth, causes condensation  and  condensation will freeze
up when you go back outside
You are are fucked at that point.
Lever action you can physically break things loose
and it has an open hammer.

I'd rather have a bottle in front of me, than a frontal lobotomy.

I'm sure he and those movies drove a bunch of gun sales.  Like those who thought shooting a Desert Eagle would be like shooting a .22. . .  ;D

Yup. I'm sure lots of movies drove lots of gun sales.  Can't imagine how many guns John Wick inspired.  From HKs, to Glock, etc.  I know a few folks to have the John Wick model TT.

Can't really think of a specific gun that I bought because of a movie.  I mean I liked the mini-gun from Predator, but that's a non-starter :kickcan:  ;D

Other than what was inherited,  my sole decision of selection for a gun was the
same as I would when I buy a tool.
I don't own a Glock.  an AR platform,  or any number
of popularity contest winners.
Mine all have one common denominator
They work when I need them.

There was an adjustable screw added to that rifle's lever handle to trip the trigger at the end of cycling the action.  His trigger finger never had to be inside the loop, for fear he'd empale his finger on the trigger during a rapid succession.

Notice in the opening shot, he doesn't do the iconic "flip" until he's out of ammo and starts reloading.  If he flipped the rifle with a round in the tube, the screw would cause it to fire at the end of the flip.   :shake:

Also, the opening shows him firing 12 fast shots, even though the rifle only holds 10 rounds.

Hollywood magic!

The majority of the rifle skills demonstrated were just that -- skills.  Chuck was an athlete before going into acting, and he was able to manage nearly all the amazing things asked of the character.

Of course, the one thing he excelled at was time travel.  The series was set in the 1870s-1880s, yet his rifle was a modified Winchester 92 -- as in 1892.   :geekdanc:

I bought a Marlin 336, chambered in 32 Win Special at the last show.  I was stoked then couldn’t  find ammo and was concerned that I’d never get to shoot it.  Solved my own problem.  Bought reloading equipment and learned how to neck up 30-30 brass.  I now have 200 hand rolled rounds.  Just need a damn place to shoot them now!  LOL!

The key question is what caliber if you could only have one? I have the 30-30 and I like it as well as a .22 but if I could only have one I think I would lean towards a .357...

Think of the magazine capacity if they made one in 9mm.

Lever actions are designed for rimmed cartridges.

But this came out recently.

https://pof-usa.com/firearm/tombstone-9mm/

I’ll stick with my AR9. Though the Tombstone seems like a run gun. Recoil would be super mild.

Lever Action:  The "new" -ly designated "assault rifle" soon to be targeted by the libtard left.
Sometimes you gotta know when to save your bullets.
