Sig Romeo1 Pro vs Holosun 507c
« on: January 11, 2023, 03:09:07 PM »

I have both these optics but I haven't shot with the Romeo1 Pro yet
but I do like Holosun optics.  I have 4 of them.  the 510c on an AR and 2 507c's and 1 507k on pistols

I have a Romeo1Pro that came with my P320 XFull.  For Holosun pistol optics, I just have the EPS Carry.  I like both, but very different.  I have an EPS, but waiting for a gun for it.  I have heard great things about the 509T and know many folks who have both the 507 and 407.

The Romeo has some mixed reviews, particularly on durability.  I only have maybe 400 rounds through the P320 with the Romeo1Pro, but haven't done a training class or session or even a pistol match with it.  I was going to shoot it in the last MPPL match that was scheduled right before KHSC was shutdown. . .  :(

I am relatively new to both optics brands on pistols.  All previous RDS pistols have RMR.

If it has a bottom battery like the Romeo 1, then it's a no go for me.  I like how Holosuns you can side load. Which means no need re zero, re loctite, etc...

The Romero 1 also didn't even have a cover for the battery. IDK if others do, but this one also came with a sticker you place right below the RDS on the slide so gas and carbon doesn't go back into the bottomless RDS.

Romeo 1 pro has a top loaded battery. so no need take off the optic to replace the battery
I've shot the Romeo 1 pro which is on my Sig P226 Legion once so far and I like it.  it has a big window so easy to pick up the dot and the target.  I have the 3 MOA dot, you can also get them in 6 MOA dot, but I like the 3 MOA better just my preference
I prefer the Holosun 507c overall, but I'll keep the Romeo 1 pro on the P226 bc it's not bad at all and it came with the gun.  Sig optic on a Sig pistol.....

You had a knockoff model.  Like Cucci instead of Gucci. . .

It's Holex.

Funny story, a friend to bought me a knock off HOlex in Hong Kong many years ago (on purpose).  He came back with one and was told by the vendor he will guarantee it not break for 24hours while wearing it.  My friend never wore it and neither did I for months.  Until I went to Vegas and didn't want to take my regular watch.  So I wore the Holex for the first time and on the flight there, I noticed my watch wasn't on my wrist. The pin had fallen out and it was on the floor under my seat.  So in the end, the 24hours without breaking didn't stand up.  I wore it the rest of our week in Vegas and had no issues.  IIRC it was the Oyster.
