Ilima Decosta's daughter according to the article was killed by a gun.  (Not a person with a gun the article states her daughter was killed by a gun.)

Angelica Mercado is some kind of director of Domestic Violence.

A question to these two women:

What makes you think a law that bans guns in these so called sensitive places will deter criminals who do not obey or follow laws from entering these places and killing people?

Some written law signed by a part time governor is gonna scare them away?

Oh. Wait a minute.  I see now.  According to the article, it is the gun that is killing people, not the person.

It is only a matter of time before these two women see the fallacy of their thinking.  Whether they realize it is something only they will truly know in their heart.

The veteran, chris marvin said he explained to his 11 year old daughter the importance of his work.

I hope she learns about the constitution and realizes her dad helped screw over people and enable rapist, active shooters, kidnappers, etc...

Hawaii's quest to reduce gun crimes and violence met with opposition

https://www.kitv.com/news/hawaiis-quest-to-reduce-gun-crimes-and-violence-met-with-opposition/article_b717eace-01e5-11ee-9911-1f22573bb2f2.html

With decades of experience as an ER doctor, Green says gun violence is a public health crisis and action needs to be taken to address it.

"What you're going to see today is us moving from the state with the second lowest rate of gun violence in the country and we hope to stay with the lowest rate of gun violence in the country," said Green. "Back on the mainland I was one of the physicians that took care of individuals who were victims of gun violence. I lost a loved one to a suicide with a gun, so anything we could do, we should do."

Chris Marvin with 'Everytown for Gun Safety' told KITV4, "I think the legislature and the Governor have done a great job of making Hawaii safer, in the face of the Supreme Court telling us that we had to issue concealed carry weapons permits."

Republican Representative Diamond Garcia said, "I did not support the Senate Bill 1230 which simply restricts people's constitutional right to carry firearms to protect themselves and their family."

Hawaii Firearms Coalition Director Andrew Namiki Roberts said the Hawaii Firearms Coalition will file a lawsuit when the law goes into effect this summer.

I see Gov. Green’s armed bodyguards pick him up from his condo often.  Will his bodyguards also not carry in sensitive places when with him?  Ah, yes.  They’re above the laws that they create.

The governor and other political asshats like him feel that their lives are more important than the lives of the constituents they have sworn to protect.

If they really believe that laws are enough to deter the criminal element and that law enforcement agencies are adequate enough to protect and respond to every constituent that needs protection because they cannot protect themselves due to these ridiculous laws, then they themselves should abolish their private protection details.

Will they do it?  Of course not.  They are all in the same camp: "Do as I say, not as I do."

Agree, because the way he's been governing it seems someone already gave him a swift kick to the head.

One can be mad at him but Hawaii chose him. This what we get. I didnt vote for him. And like many other terrible career politicians, they keep getting re elected to fOffice. We do it to ourselves as a state. We have low voter turnout and many don’t educate themselves on the candidates but rather vote on name recognition.

funny that we strive to "buy local" "Keep Hawaii Hawaii" KeepDa Country Country" then when we had a choice to vote for a local we vote for someone from Pennsylvania. ::)

It's amazing what makes the already low voter turnout vote for a particular person.

Looks, ethnicity, local/non-local, union recommendations, whether there is a D or an R or anything else next to the name.  However, having a D next to your name will do wonders for your electability in Hawaii, even if the voter(s) can't remember who you are or what you stand for.  Sad.

In the case of Green he had a D next to his name, along with voters who take the ainokea attitude and a union environment whose voters vote lockstep with who the union endorses.  These union members don't realize their negotiated high wages are going to higher taxes, higher cost of living, and into the pockets of their union officials.

Hardly anyone ever votes on the issues on hand and how the candidates (if ever) will address it.

Hawaii did not choose him, Democrat party
and Democrat dominated unions did.
I was a member of the longshoreman union ILWU for a while.
I worked in the same facility as the local union district representative
and gained a lot of inside knowledge about the union.
A run of the mill dock worker makes well over $120,000
per year before overtime and various other fringe benefits.
Democrat political leaders will give them what ever they want
so who do they vote for?
All government unions are the same way.
As the Federal government just demonstrated, budget buster RINOs aren't any better
so why vote for them?
Solution
Don't obey the law.
Keep a lawyer on speed dial.
Strike against the government
wherever possible, in ways that don't
physically hurt anybody.
There is a thousand cheap ways to jamb the
system up so much it will fail.

For example on the BI there are two economic
systems; one cash based and the other The more traditional
pay your tax and obey the government system.
I always pay cash if I get a price break.
I'm sure that cash is not reported as income.
If I want a gun I don't ask permission, I go get it,
I have a legal residence in WA state.
If it is safe, I drive above the speed limit.
I pay my income tax once per year.
These are all civil infractions against the corrupt government
Nobody is physically assaulted.

Y'all think about this next time you beg HPD for permission to buy or
carry a gun,  the system makes a mistake,  and you are
ordered to surrender all your registered guns.
