The Pentagon has now designated “information operations” as its fifth “core competency” alongside land, sea, air and special forces. Since October 2006, every brigade, division and corps in the US military has had its own “psyop” element producing output for local media. This military activity is linked to the State Department’s campaign of “public diplomacy” which includes funding radio stations and news websites.

This use of propaganda disguised as journalism is what journalist John Pilger refers to as “invisible government… the true ruling power of our country.”

Maritime code (unwritten). If someone is in trouble, regardless of the why/how people/governments help.

I used to go fishing on a boat with a co-worker back in the day.  Yes, if a fellow mariner is in distress you drop everything and help.

There were several times when the fish were biting very well but the distress signal went out for help and we happened to be the closest to the distressed boat.  We packed up and headed towards them to help, knowing that it is highly possible that one day it could be us.

Maritime code (unwritten). If someone is in trouble, regardless of the why/how people/governments help. Same with the homemade rafts of people trying to come to Florida from Cuba. The problem would be though if someone is pregnant and gives birth on the US Navy/CG ship.  This is "US soil", which would make the child a US citizen.  This was asked in an ethics class at Annapolis on the Military Channel.

Deadliest Catch show has similar every now and then, another vessel is in trouble, so the ship diverts of it's course which cost a lot in fuel to try to reach the distressed vessel.  Even if the troubled ship is hours away. 1 could argue that being in the Bearing Sea is wreckless just so they can catch crab.

But I get what you're saying. But read my post above, there is no permit needed since he's in international waters and doesn't sell the sub.

No blood flow as the TQ is on the neck just in case one gets a serious wound. Prevention is key.

the final step in Sub distraction is to politicize the shit out of it

then move on to the next stupid thing that doest really matter as the nation burns

Social media must have been ahead of schedule.  There were many posting that we should be celebrating the demise of billionaires.

You couldn't pay me any amount to go in that submersible and yet you have stupid rich people who pay $250k for a chance to ride in that death trap. I hope it imploded.  That would be a far more merciful death that waiting for 96 hours watching your oxygen run out.  I don't think it had restroom facilities either.

If you remember the movie Apollo 13, oxygen is only half the "breathing" concern.  They need CO2 scrubbers to keep from choking on their own exhaled gases.  if the sub were without power, and the scrubbers offline, they wouldn't last a day with that many people turning oxygen into CO2.  Breathing oxygen depleted air caused by extreme CO2 concentrations can lead to death by suffocation.

Msm was in no great rush to tell everyone that the crew is dead.
This story generated  a lot of clicks.
Clicks=money.

It's just that simple.
I am tempted to make a disgusting joke about fish bait and click bait but I won't do it.
That would be in poor taste.
What, Me Worry?

It was rather convenient for Cameron to opine when they found debris...
but what do you expect from the director of a movie where the main character died at the end

I remember how sad it was when John Denver died in an experimental plane he was piloting.  Regulations for experimental aircraft were changed following that crash due in part to public attention.

I imagine there will now be changes to regulatory oversight of experimental submersibles.

CMO, I can now disclose top secret information about the mission of the Titan. It was to extract the remains of writer, Jacques Futrelle, who died aboard the Titanic. Futrelle wrote the famous Thinking Machine mystery series, anticipating the rise of men with brilliant minds, rivaling today's thinking engine, ChatGPT.

His bio can be researched here:

Quote
On the written page, Jacques Futrelle could devise the most ingenious of “impossible escapes.” On the tragic night of April 14, 1912, however, the celebrated author of “The Problem of Cell 13,” refused his only chance to escape the sinking Titanic.

New technology for rebirthing dead people from DNA samples has been discovered in the ship that landed in Area 51. Aliens realized that the earth was going to hell in a handbasket, and did not want the planet that gave birth to Helen of Troy, Ludwig von Beethoven, and Albert Einstein to undergo devolution back to the pre-paleolithic era. I told them this was not possible, and crunch went the Titan sub.

U mean to get the bankers DNA from the Titanic because the current ones who control the fed reserve need pure DNA to keep their family in power, as it's been diluted with outsiders over the generations.

So now the stuff I'm seeing more is since the rich got in trouble, charge them for all rescue cost.  And people are supporting this not understanding unwritten maritime code, or other things. here's an example:

Deadliest Catch series, often the captain of the crab ship doesn't own the boat, but some "rich guys" do. This crew knowiling goes out into very hostile ocean to catch crab to make money.  So if 1 of these ships need help, should the charge go back to the owners?  At least with the Titan, there is some room for not knowing all risk. Like I'm sure none of the passengers had their own safety inspection done of the sub nor did an investigation into the background of the sub. They trusted that the operators knew what they were doing.  Compare this to the crab workers, they know sea is bad and can turn in an instant.

Basically it's people hating on the rich again.

I flew in quite a few experimental aircraft with no concerns what so ever.
But I also knew that in my time they were built to specification, by people that were
experts and their work was inspected for compliance. All our flights were planned
in detail.
Safety is #1,  you fly unsafely and you may die in an experimental aircraft.
I spent twenty years in Boeing Experimental flight test.
Never lost a plane, we broke a few, but never crashed one like Airbus did.
Most private built experimental aircraft that fail are due to someone hot dogging
it and pushing it beyond it's or their limits.
Most experimental aircraft are over built for safety, and their flying limits are set well within
design limits. eg the wing can safely handle 10g's, but the flight limits will be set to 8g's max.
Sub was poorly designed , poorly built, and exceed  material design limits.
how was it tested?  They found out the hard way. it wasn't.

What I find interesting is that there's no "seal/gasket" for the front area where you get in. Seems like metal on metal. I mean, I'm no expert so IDK how doors like this work.  But I remember being on the Missouri Battleship and I think I saw a gasket on their watertight doors. I don't recall what I saw on the Bowfin sub.

Going more than 2 miles down into the ocean in a vienna sausage can.

Is it possible that the more rich you get, the more stupid you become?

Or is it the more rich you become the more reckless you behave.

Oh well.  Too late now.

I think it's more like they have the $ to do anything they want and have done it all already. Same goes with other areas. Dan Bilzarian (IG personality) has been with models for years now. So he recently said he really likes to just stay home on the weekend,. He's tired of partying and women thowing themselves at him.  He had a story that a model type girl wanted to sleep with him while they were partying at his home.He said, go knock on my roommates door and wake him up and go have sex with him.  And she did.  I mean, IDK how much  of his stories are true, but you get the point.
