They seem to like sandy areas.
We would find them at the Baldwin Rifle range.
Wailea golf course sandtraps.
Bellows beach.

They are all over but prefer to stay low-key unless disturbed.
Kind of like ccw holders.

Saw one at the Koko Head range a couple of years ago, by the skeet range.

I got stung by one from Kokohead a couple years ago. They aren't supposed to be deadly, I think they were called common brown scorpions. It hurt a lot though, felt like a hot needle in the beginning and the pain took at least a half hour to subside.

There's a lot of YT videos about moving to Vegas.  A lot of them start by the title "10 things to think about before moving to Vegas".

One of the things they talk about is the scorpions in Vegas.  They must be the serious hurt kind.  Or possibly the deadly kind?

They said those suckers can squeeze into the smallest knook and cranny and hide in your house, waiting to sting your ding-a ling.

Quote from: Mayo Clinic
Scorpion stings are painful but rarely life-threatening. Young children and older adults are most at risk of serious complications. In the United States, the bark scorpion, found mainly in the desert Southwest, is the only scorpion species with venom potent enough to cause severe symptoms.

Exactly. I’ve found both at my mom’s house growing up and my house other side of Koolau’s.
Caught one and kept it as a pet. Fed it meal worms and it would eat ‘em when they turned into beetles. Saw dust ground cover.
My Dad killed it as soon as he found it. Lasted maybe a month.
Freaked him out, one in the house. Not sure he ever saw one before.

When at Aikahi Gardens, kids found them all the time. Would put with centipede to watch them fight.
Want to get rid of scorpions?
Get centipedes !

No wonder I only see centipedes.....

I scaid centipedes.

My wife's grandmother's house had a huge lichee tree.  When I used to rake the leaves, monster centipedes would crawl from under the leaves.

I never knew I could leap into the air like a Shaolin Monk in the movies until then.
