Since when does "public emergency" grant such unlimited powers?
The Resident and other gun haters have been trying to get the CDC to declare the current "epidemic" of gun violence a public health emergency.
Unfortunately for them, they also funded the CDC to study gun violence, and the results have been to dispel the narrative that taking away guns from law abiding people will do anything other than disarm upwards of millions who defend themselves with firearms every year.
When at least as many people protect themselves and others using guns as do criminals cause death and injury with guns, removing one side of that equation means more will shift to the other side of the equal sign. In other words, the people who fought back would then become victims without the means to defend themselves effectively.
Anyway, they tried forcing doctors to interrogate patients to find out how many own guns.
The push to make guns a health issue versus crime issue is not new at alll.
Does declaring an emergency allow the state to walk over the 2nd Amendment? Apparently there are many who believe it does -- else why try so hard to get the CDC to make the declaration?
