Chicago mayor is entertaining the thought of taxpayer funded supermarkets like how they have in places like North Korea.

This is because all the retailers are hightailing the f*ck out of Chicago.

In the case of congress they lower the bar for one f*ckn guy.

In Chicago they lower the bar for the criminals.  Since they no longer have any retail outlets to steal from, they can now steal from outlets subsidized by their own peers.

Way to go Chicago mayor and Fetterman.  You guys are the new leadership standard of the future.

I don't see anything wrong with something less formal than a suit and tie but have some standards at least. A nice collared aloha shirt for example.

You know they secretly told the Sergeant at Arms not to enforce the rule rather than change the rule officially because it was to accommodate one specific democrat:  John Fetterman.

He's been circumventing the dress code by casting his votes from the Democrat cloak room just off the floor of the Senate.

If you can't at the very least dress appropriately for your job, then maybe you need a different job?  You think the employees working at McDonald's or Burger King don't want to wear shorts and their favorite t-shirts?  And they make a hell of a lot less than $174,000 per year.

He's not some political genius whose ideas will save the world if only we can accommodate his preferred manner of dress.  He's a brain damaged individual who got elected because the debate was scheduled far enough into the year that most voters had not seen how damaged he really is before they early-voted.

All he is to the Dem party is a loyal member of the Senate who will vote as they tell him.  They are willing to ignore centuries of decorum for this one person's vote.

My comment was more about re-evaluating what should be the dress code. I think it could be relaxed a little. Not sweat pants though.

Heck, you could even argue doing away with a coat requirement saves money on air conditioning.

They can wear coats if the want to, I wasn't suggesting it was mandatory that people dress a little less formal.

No structure.  Just make anykine, anykine. ::)  Dress codes are based on discipline and discipline is based on professionalism.  And professionalism is required and expected in congress.

There's a reason for structure.  And standards.  Cannot just change things because one guy is a little bit "strange" and doesn't (or can't?) get with the program.  Just because this hoodie guy is a good little democrat and votes the way you tell him doesn't mean you change the program for your little treasure brown noser.

Imagine if we did that in the military.   Instead of a Ranger Regiment we'll have a Kumbaya Brigade.

I did hear some speculation as to whether his physical disability made it hard for him to wear a suit. I don't know the extent of his injuries though. Still you would expect something nicer than sweats though.
