Hand loads are not allowed

Lane rental fees are still charged to the others that didn’t pay the 1200 upfront.

When xring opened up I thought it would be great since I live 2 minutes away.
I was going to test and chronograph my ammo there. :'(
What, Me Worry?

Thanks for the info on the pricing breakdown.

No handloads and I’m back to they want something crazy like $1200.

X ring is the way to go. If you are going to shoot at least 1x a week then the $1200 you pay is covering all of your range fees for the year and you get to shoot your own ammunition. If you are going to shoot less than 1x a week then you need to figure out if that investment is worth it in your situation. For me it’s a no brainer cause sometimes I’m there like 3x a week. And with the subscription you don’t feel bad about going in and shooting 50rds then dipping out.

All that aside you are able to do real practical training there unlike anywhere else I’m aware of. You can rapid fire and holster draw. Koko head is good cause it’s free but let’s be honest if you don’t practice for practical applications you will never be proficient at it.

Don't you have to take their class first to be able to holster draw?  Which cost another $100+.

Was this recent?  The last time I looked into it was a few years ago. But then I made the decision that it didn't matter cause I refuse to spend $ at X-ring as much as I can avoid it as possible.  I rather not shoot than support them.

Great question. I want to make the following Statements:

1). I have not been exposed to any or all of the past dealings at x ring.  I respect them and they respect me

2). I have not seen or talked to any employee that might have been there in the past.  I constantly see the ones there on Saturday and Sunday.

I can’t go down till next week. I will find out the prices and report back. I don’t like to call and tie people up

Aloha

I can understand Xring not wanting handloads shot through their rentals. And no steel tips.
Maybe the smoke from lead indoors but jacketed handloads also?  Don’t see why they would care if you’re paying the annual fee.

Bottom line:  Like it or not, they have rules.  If you don't like their pricing, find somewhere else.

When Kokohead was closed, i was fortunate to find an "alternative"  I did go to "another" range but their fees were "more"

The SAD part is that Koko head hasn't fully reopened.

Good Luck and Happy Shooting!

Correct.  It's your money, spend it where and how you want.  I'm not a fan of 808GC either, but they aren't as bad as X.  But I had no choice but to shoot there to do my CCW qual.  I zero'd my red dots in Vegas.  So I went up to Vegas and was CCWing for about 1 hour with an unzero'd red dot.  They're weren't that far off at 10 yards.  Bascially I placed the dot near my front post until I was able to zero.

Is X allowing other instructors to do their CCW qual at their range?  Or do you have to take the X CCW class?

You do first need to pass a rapid fire qualification for $25 then a holster draw qualification for $25 to be able to do both. IMHO that’s very valid because if people don’t know how to shoot they will literally shoot anything but the intended target. X ring is hands down the nicest cleanest indoor range in the state and if I owned the business I would require the same standards in order to maintain that status. Most indoor ranges in the mainland won’t ever allow you to rapid fire or holster draw so I take x ring allowing you to do that as a win.

The good thing is once you pass those qualifications you can do real world training. Me personally I want to train and I refuse to let pricing which is most likely where it is because they have a business to run get in my way. The staff is extremely friendly and very helpful to everyone I have ever seen there but for some reason some people are against it and I respect their opinion as well.

As I've only been to Vegas indoor ranges, the ones I've inquired allow IWB or OWB draw and rapid fire without taking a qual or charging extra.  Range702, The Gunstore, Battlefield LV, Strip Gun Club all allow.  IDK about others as I've stopped inquiring after getting the same replies.  Even the Clark County Public range allows this as well (outdoor).  Range 702 you can bring your own ammo. IDK about the others as I never asked.  I had to zero our RDS so I shot our HP ammo and asked if I can bring my own and no problem.

808GC doesn't charge extra for this, but they do watch you if you're not a regular to make sure you're safe.  Well the prior 2 owners/management did, IDK about the current one.

I know friends who live in AZ, UT, and WA and the indoor range they go to (closest to their home) allows as well, you can even bring your own ammo.

my experience as well. The local private gun ranges here are a reflection of the political anti-2a environment. You want to exercise this? You need to pay extra.

I've been to a dozen indoor gun ranges on the mainland and all of them you pay a fee and shoot your own ammo.  One of them an RSO had to certify you to shoot from a holster but did not charge a fee.  Another didn't allow drawing from appendix.  Others didn't care.

I heard an instructor flew in from the mainland to teach NVG class at xring.  He assumed it was like all other ranges and students brought their own ammo.  Xring required the students to buy ammo on the day of the class and the instructor was pissed.
