Think of it as a pocket machete.

Didn't notice any blade threads on here.

Post your love for knives. EDC, folders, fixed blades, swords, machetes, axes, favorite butterknives, whatever.

I'll start..

Here's a knife I found on the ground one day.

Not too bad. Blade is a little thin & feels kinda flimsy. But pretty good for a free knife.

My EDC

Yes, it's an automatic. I know. I LOVE this knife. Has a little weight on it & feels very sturdy. Had this for about 8 years now & the action on it still is very crisp.
I can trust this knife to get me out of some shit if I needed her to.

And here is one of my wants.

Used to have one of these as a kid, but the one with the comb on it instead of a blade.

hope you are not in Hawaii, those last 2 will get you into trouble!  They are illegal to own and are defiantly illegal to carry.

For the past ten years or so, I have been carrying a karambit style knife.  I have been carrying a Fox Karambit a few years now.  I say it deploys faster than any other EDC I have.  But it does take practice.

I've been wanting the Emerson combat karambit but don't see how I can pass it off as a tool.

The leverage of a curved edge makes the Karambit style blade a perfect knife to cut carpet with, open boxes, and many many utility work type of functions.
A curved blade does not make a knife evil anymore than a barrel shroud renders a rifle into an assault weapon. The fixed Fox Karambit even makes a great dive blade!
 :shaka:

This blade can be used defensively in a responsible manner also. Just target incoming strikes and never go for the throat.
Check out my you tube channel for the channel link to Filipino Kali Educator's YouTube defensive Karambit demonstration.
We don't live in a war zone, so a defend then evade and escape is the mindset you need. Escape, Evade & Live doing minimum damage to escape to remain within the law.

Tom Mayo builds some excellent heirlooms.  I say heirlooms because they are all pieces of art, not something I would want as an EDC.  One of these days I will have to visit him and see if he would make a karambit with his twist on it.

late Christmas gift.
almost too nice to use.
Boker.  6mm thick blade.  12" overall.  Micarta handles.
I was impressed when i opened the box.  the red spacers in the handle with the mosaic pins are a nice touch.
feels like one serious knife!
