Remove the law is what I am hoping for. I have many fond memories of New Years celebrations.
Not complete removal, I don't think the very large aerial ones should be legal for average consumers, but the smaller ones like bottle rockets, firecrackers, etc.

That's a very emotional rationalization.

Not very objective, I would say.

the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself.
Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man.

Nothing says my preferences for activities have to be objective. I like what I like, you like what you like and we can vote on that preference. Objectivity doesn't make an food taste better or worse

Do you have something that says your opinions about other stuff have to be objective?

Dammit, no more F22's in stock as they're on hold due to Ukraine and Israel conflicts.

I am subjective about things in which objectivity is not applicable. Pineapple on pizza for example, there is no objective answer.

Food preferences are not always a choice. There is the food you grew up eating which instilled biases and skewed opinions. There is the cost, which might mean you pretend to like the things you are forced to afford out of a lack of options.  Then there is the physiological, where you might have allergies, problems tasting certain qualities that everyone else can, etc.  So, no, there is an objective facet to food preferences.

But, that's totally beside the point.  What you eat doesn't interfere with the quiet enjoyment of others around you.

Yours is a self-centered, narcissistic opinion.

Everyone eats, but not everyone lights fireworks and terrorizes dogs and cats while also causing breathing problems for some of us.

Basically, you are ignoring the objective facts because you want to side with the subjective desire to have fun.

Glad the rest of the world is not as "objective" as you are....

You are confusing two separate questions.

Do you want fireworks to be made legal? This is entirely a preference based question so any answer is inherently subjective.
vs.
What are the reasons for and against fireworks being made legal? This is a question where objectivity is applicable because it requires one to look at all sides to understand.

My statement was a preference based response but you did a straw man, like you always do, and turned it into the second question and used that to criticize me. I don't even know why I am bothering to explain this to you when you have demonstrated you are always just looking to start an argument where none is necessary. If you disagreed, all you had to do is state that you think fireworks should remain illegal for reason X.

You love to twist words.

How you vote is, indeed, a "preference," but it's NOT as subjective as liking blue vs. yellow.  Rather than use the correct word, "choice", you made it sound like it's nothing more than a like or dislike.  The fireworks issue is far from that.

Fireworks have some very important OBJECTIVE points to consider -- and none of those involve individual likes and dislikes.

Stop being so transparent in your attempts to create a false narrative through word-smithing.

The only twisting I do is untwisting things you have twisted.

Of course fireworks as a topic have many objective points but that isn't what I was talking about so I didn't address that. I stated only my preference. If you wanted a discussion on the pros and cons of fireworks just ask instead of playing these games.

We can't have a discussion.  All you do is look for some minor tangent to pounce on and derail the entire thread.

This and don't forget about whataboutism and refusing to admit when wrong. Instead, doing more whataboutism, goal post moving, etc...

You just typed a very concise autobiography of your history on this website.
