Kurt Russell made ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK.

Then made ESCAPE FROM L.A.

Now the old fart has to make ESCAPE FROM LAS VEGAS.

This time he'll get around using a scooter.

He made a vid months ago and mentioned the overcrowded classrooms.  He said 20 or so is "overcrowded.  When I was in school, we had 30 minimum.

Also, NV is ranked like 47/50 for worst education system. But HI is 43 or so, so same same.

I also didn't know about the 3rd intake pipe at Mead.  So that's a good thing.

12 violations.  Odd, since they received an A rating last February after a follow-up inspection from January's B rating.

Looks like they were lapsing after every "A" into a "B", correcting enough violations to get a follow-up "A", then lapsing on the next routine inspection.

That place is known for their ox tail soup. But M-TH, it's from 11pm.  Then weekends it's from 11am.

There's also a place in there that sells Molokai Sweet Bread.

Same soup which the Market Street Cafe serves, I'm sure.  There's a long line when that soup is written on the Cafe's "Specials" board.

Wow.  That is sad. :(

The place is almost always busy.  Their prices have gone up but that's understandable.  But their portions remain ridiculously generous.

Funny they got cited for health demerits that caused them to shut down.  When I was there at the end of last year I was getting upset stomachs from eating food from Market St. Cafe which is right under them on the casino level.

So much that I started eating at Aloha Specialties, even though I had to pay for my food there.  I had a coupon meal book comp for Market St. but was getting upset stomachs every time I ate something there.

Go figure.  Maybe the food at Aloha Specialties tasted better because they don't wash their hands or wipe down the prep counters...... :shake:

I did use my food coupon book to eat at the Main St. Buffet.  I think that's a good deal due to the variety the buffet offers, however the food was just typical middle tier basic food items besides the prime rib.  There was no crab legs while I was there.  But still a good deal.

When I turned 21, my parents took me via Vacations Hawaii and Stardust was where we stayed.  We only used the meal voucher once at the Cal's 24/7 cafe becuase we wanted to XP the different food venues Vegas has to offer. We went to Mon Ami Gambi in Paris and I got to see Rod Stewart there.  He was with a tall, younger blonde with big tiddy's.

The best memory I have was playing craps at Sdust at 3am by myself. I didn't know how to play, but the dealers explained as I bet. It was a $5 table and that was a lot as my gambling budget for the entire trip was $300.  My dad decided to join me cause he said "how often do I get to play craps with my son".  He then went on a god roll for like 45 mins. My $5 passline bet with $5 odds at first,  and $5 on the place bets turned into $700 when he was done. By the time we left the table, we were still up a lot and when we went to the room, the sun was out.

I also like to experience different foods when in Vegas.  This particular trip we tried different types of Dim Sum from different restaurants.  I also like to try all kinds of pan roasts from different oyster bars.

I try to visit a different sushi restaurant whenever we visit Vegas.  This trip we went to Umiya Sushi next to the Palms Hotel and Casino.  Good stuff.

I used my Aloha Coupon book for basically "snack food".  Just before heading up to the room we would go use the coupons to get Saimin or Won Ton Min from Market St. Cafe.  Or maybe a Burger and Fries or a Loco Moco.

I did utilize the "Specialty Coupon" to get a Prime Rib Meal that also comes with a cherries jubilee dessert.  It's always a hit and miss thing as far as how good the prime rib is.  This trip the Prime Rib looked so good I actually took a picture of it before diving in on it.

Sadly, as good as it looks, it was far from good, LOL.  Sad to say I bet it was previously frozen then heated up.  The texture was off.

And then a couple of hours later I had to do a serious doo-doo....... ::)

Craps players will never forget their first experience playing craps.

And our Best memories are the ones where we won a lot of money for the very first time.  After that, we get hooked by the craps gods and we chase that memory that unfortunately, doesn't come as often as we like.
Glad you have a wonderful memory of playing craps with your Dad.

For me, my Dad was watching from above, probably smiling and cracking up laughing......

If I'm in Vegas to mainly gamble -- as opposed to gun training classes, expo's, and shows with family -- I can be up for 30-35 hours the first night,  after that, it's a cycle of stay up until you need sleep, catch a 4-5 hour nap, then a shower and back at it.

When i eat, it's usually breakfast no matter what time I wake up.  i get water, coffee and juice at the tables (staying away from alcohol while playing), and maybe grab a quick bite at another property as I wander around looking for a hot table.  Krispy Kreme is a must at least once during and again at the end of the trip.

I'll make time for the Freemont seafood buffet on Friday night, and maybe Hooter's for some delicious hot wings.  i really enjoyed The Pink Taco at The Hard Rock Casino for my first meal in LV in the evening just to kick off the gaming.  Really got me in the Vegas mood.

Basically, I'm not there for the food, but I'll ask for a comp ticket wherever I'm playing for awhile just for variety.  i figure it's the least they owe me no matter if I'm up or down at the time.

Vegas of the past. Hooters hotel and the restaurant in Oyo Hotel is now gone and so is Hard Rock.  We went to Hard Rock once and ate at the sushi place inside.  Our waiter was from HI and hooked us up big time.  Then we played craps with some Canadians and it was shit talking the entire time between the US and Canada.  Super fun, even Mrs. CMO got involved.  Had a guy rolling 12's all day.  And Mrs. CMO loves the field, so she made out good.

We thoguht we could walk to Hard Rock, but my coworker who used to live in Vegas told us not to.

I never noticed it before but Downtown has a decent amount of higher end Steakhouses.  I've been to Hugo's Cellar at the Four Queens twice and it was a nice experience and decent food.

We went to the Redwood Grill at the Cal on Christmas Day for dinner.  It was crowded, noisy, and they sat us in a not too cozy seating area.  I was hoping for a quiet, intimate booth or something but the experience was junk.  The food was ok.  Don't think I'll visit anytime soon or ever.

But aside from Fremont Casino and the Golden Gate, I think every property Downtown has a Steakhouse.  I will definitely plan in the future to visit some of them.

I find I don't care much for the newer Food Halls popping up all over the place.  I guess I'm from the older generation that prefers simple foods.  The Food Halls offer stuff that is unrecognizable in my opinion, LOL!  Lots of FUSION CONFUSION.

I'm from the umami generation.  Let the ingredients speak for themselves.  Not smother them with sauces that kill the original flavor.  Zig Zag different color sauces are not my cup of tea. ;D

And I'm a nigiri sushi guy.  Don't care for the rolls and other newer concoctions.

Almost every casino has a higher end steak house. It's a Vegas thing. The only diff between them all are the sides. Steak is steak at high end steak houses.

We went to the Via Via Food Hall in Venetian during thanksgiving.  The burger place was good, but nothing worth going out of your way for a burger. But the fried bologna sandwitch was worth a try as you can't find that anywhere. The pizza place was average, Buddy V's in Harrahs taste better for sicilian peperoni. Didn't try Ivan's Ramen, but it looked lame. Mrs. CMO tried the sandwitch place that has locations offstrip and she didn't care for it. IDK what she got.

The best food hall IMO is Resorts World. Clay Pot rice is good and so is the Mischos Taco's.  They even have aqua fresca at Mischo's.  The sushi place in there is average at best, but their grilled salmon musubi is awesome. The Pho place is good and above average.
