Banning all or most of the firearms we already own and prohibiting sale/transfer basically reduces their value to nothing. Grandfather clause or not, you will be immediately financially harmed. I wonder what the total number of registered semi-auto rifles are in the state, and what their value amounts to. Could a potential lawsuit based on this be a strong arguement for opposition to this bill?

I swag 75,000 to 150,000, hard to tell.  It's very difficult to be awarded damages from the state for something like that.  Maybe if there was a gun confiscation and they gave a $100 gift card for your $3000 rifle.

Threaded barrels would just have to be replaced or permanently modified. Like soldering over the threads.

Seems that the assault weapons ban is mostly for centerfire weapons?  Correct me if I'm wrong.  So tired of trying to read and re-read that bullsh*t proposal and it's legalese jargon.

Would my Walther P-22 with threaded barrel be exempt? (.22 rimfire pistol).

Again, the assault weapons proposal gets me so riled up everytime I read it.  Thanks to anyone who wants to answer my question.

the new definitions doesnt exempt rimfire pistols. I only found one section that exempts rimfire rifles with tube magazine.

so I think a 22 rimfire pistol with one single "assault" feature would be an assault pistol. so all pistols with threaded barrel would be an assault pistol.

edit: keep in mind they can and will make a lot of amendments to the bill so no telling where things could end up.

Any handgun with a threaded barrel will now be defined as an "assault pistol". There is no grandfather for these.  The guys who made HI compliant "assault pistols" also have no grandfather clause.

Here is what we do know, there are 24 million semi auto rifles in the nation. This number was used in the 9th's hearing a few weeks ago. The judge then asked how many does CA have.  Like this matters, because the constitution applies to all 50 states, not just 1.  This is the type of judge that's going to make a ruling on AW's later.  Either she's retarded or corrupt.

Some Ruger MK's come with a threaded barrel.

Is there anything  about comps on pistols? Or is it just threaded barrels only?

Nothing about a comp on a non-threaded barrel for a pistol. Not yet...If this bill passes,  I would expect them to go after pistols in the next coming years.

Thanks.  I guess my Ruger 10/22 is on the chopping block also.

is there a way to see how many testimonies have been sent in so far like for/oppose, or we just have to wait till that day and then the numbers will be released?

Once the hearing takes place for the bill, it's usually uploaded.  There have been a few times where it took some time longer for it to be uploaded.  The state doesn't post the count like how C&C does.  So you have to count it manually.  I usually do this and post it here.

My testimony focused on common use and used the 24 mil number for AR-15 and aks. If averaged across the nation that's 100, 000 in Hawaii.  Double that for all semi autos.

Is my math right? If you average each firearm $1000 in present day value that's $300 million dollars in private property they are about to ban?

Lot of the rifles are cheaper stuff like stock ar15s and ruger 10/22s.  I'd say over $100 million.

I listened to the vote.  I heard Senator Rhodes say the 3196 was basically about 50 cal rifles?  Wtf?  It’s more than that.  He goes on to mention 60 and 100 round magazines.  Hmmmm

It's not a misunderstanding. He's a tyrant. We didn't push back against the lockdowns and now they are taking away our guns so they can go even harder next time.

Recap for those who cannot watch the hearing.

Komrade Rhodes stated, this bill is  balance between a knife and like a bomb. It draws the line on what people shouldn't own. No, that isn't correct. SCOTUS decided "in common use" draws the line. And with 24 million of these types of rifles in legal ownership in the USA, this is why SCOTUS ruled. Komrade Karl is acting like a dictator and so is their commitee. We don't listen to what the people want (majority of testimony was against the bill), instead we do what we feel is needed for our own reasons.

He also stated no one goes hunting with a 50 cal cause you would destroy the animal.

The committee skipped some testifiers due to "running out of time".

"The Veteran" was there and so was the "suicide" daughters mom who was on zoom.

I'll post the count later.
