Thanks Bojanglez!  I’ve never thought about falling with my firearm/scope or dropping it.  That would suck if your scope broke during shipping or because it was dropped.

Off topic.  I was talking to a guy about his trip to Lanai.  The Lanai rifle range was closed so he couldn’t confirm if his scope was still zero’d after the flight.

His scope had lost zero in transit to Lanai so he and his son weren’t able to hit anything

you can sight in if you are in a legal hunting area and have a clear background or a backstop...

Macsac,
I was wondering about that

I don’t know hunting etiquette/courtesy .  I’m thinking some in his group wouldn’t be real happy about spooking all the deer in the area when zeroing his scope.

I guess if he and his son were far from the rest of their group, it would be ok??

was this recently that the lanai range was closed?

you are allowed to zero in the hunting area but you are also right about spooking animals. but also, if you know your zero is off that might trump courtesy concerns. if anything you could wait until midday when things slow down.

Or we Zeroed a rifle after we watched an area for a while and used it as a flushing shot.

Range was closed for only one day.

Ellis…the guy who owns most of the island…was having people test some type of ballistic home exterior paneling at the range

That makes sense to zero after flushing the area.

Or after someone has already shot
