Someone lend me $10k NODs, helmet and chest rig, so I can go to this?

Guess I have to better define "or something"

Maybe mild tactical, or business tactical.  tactical pants and gun shirt.  Shirt with american flags.  ...

Legislators like to see everyday hard working people from the community.  Sometimes a little different is good once in a while.

Forgot to add there is security screening at the capitol now so no weapons.

If I'm a male stripper, can I come in my "work uniform"?

It seems intuitive to me that when you're in public you want to make it clear what you are supporting but you also want to look as sane, courteous, safe and nonthreatening as possible. The goal with all of this is to sway the undecideds, right? Who are they? If we can give comfortable feelings to the suburban mom who dreads school shootings then we've probably won the battle. I can't see body armor sending the right message.

Regarding the TS12, I don't believe it would be an "assault shotgun" under the "revolving cylinder" clause. That clause was intended to ban "revolver shotguns" like the Striker 12, with the cylinder being the component where the shell is fired from. Under SB3196, the TS12 would be banned because it has a "fixed magazine with the capacity to hold more than five rounds", with "fixed magazine" being defined as "an ammunition feeding device that is permanently attached to a firearm, or contained in and not removable from a firearm".

California has the "revolving cylinder" clause but doesn't ban the TS12 because it clarifies:
"Shotgun with a revolving cylinder" means a shotgun that holds its ammunition in a cylinder that acts as a chamber much like a revolver. To meet this definition the shotgun's cylinder must mechanically revolve or rotate each time the weapon is fired. A cylinder that must be manually rotated by the shooter does not qualify as a revolving cylinder."

I do appreciate the extremely esoteric list of firearms that made it into this bill. The TS12 didn't make it onto their copy-and-paste simply because it was released in 2018. It is also probably worth mentioning that SB3196 goes further than even California in a lot of ways.

(Although I can see that being argued in court, as a magazine that spins around seems very obviously not "fixed".)

It's funny cause they did list the Street Sweeper, which there are only like 2 in existence.

OK so re the design...

Somebody get me the correct verbage and I'll change it to make it all work right. Sometimes translations get lost in the translation

I can get stickers made and have all the proceeds go to HifiCo as they are the big push on this and other 2A stuff here

Time to resurrect this I guess

Vote for the bill was deferred until 2/27.

Buenaventura was missing, which if we assume Gabbard was going to vote no, then there would have been a tie. Which means the bill dies.

Comrade Karl said they need to make some changes to the bill.

So I think this is a good sign as Buenaventura wasn't on board with it. So there will have to be some big changes in our favor to get her to support the bill. If she shows up on tuesday.

They should let us continue to submit more testimony till then.

When will these changes be available to view? Minutes before the vote?

Agree.  On the same level as the HSC ruling using the Aloha Spirit as their trump card.

Sad state of affairs in the 50th. state.

that's how it works
the amendments are published within the next 48 hours in the committee report
then it moves on to the next committee or full senate...

Well. That’s just ridiculous

Checked my emails this morning and was surprised that Senator Mike Gabbard responded to my email to him testifying that I oppose SB3196.

So used to having no response to all the legislators that I contact.

He just thanked me for my input.  Didn't say anything else as to which way he is leaning.

He doesn't represent my district.  So I appreciated it even more.

I didn't (and never) get any response to the Senator that represents my district.  Maybe I shouldn't mention his name to avoid his embarrassment (Donovan Dela Cruz).  sorry.  I lied.

E hele mai a lawe i kēia mau mea
Come and take these things

E hele mai a lawe i kēia mau mea kaua
Come and take these weapons

E hele mai a lawe i kēia mau mea pū
Come and take these guns

I'm guessing that if you switch a to e it changes to future tense, but not sure.

Bonus round:

'A'ole mākou e ho'okō
We will not comply (confirm/fulfill)

'A'ole 'o Hawai'i e ho'okō
Hawaii will not comply (confirm/fulfill)

Kinda wish I could take a basic olelo class without having to deal with the marxist university system

This is a rough estimate but there are about 1K oppose the bill and 400 support it. 200 of the support were direct emails to Comrade Karl from Everytowns email list. So the message was word for word.

85% of the support test were copy/paste and made common statements like

"HI is the only state with an assault weapon ban,but with a loophole for assault rifles"
"The NRA doesn't represent the majority of HI people"
"A recent poll shows majority of HI supports strict gun laws"
"We have more mass shootings than days in the year"

"E" signifies a command or instruction.

"A" means and.

I excluded the second "e" because it's not generally necessary, but both are grammatically correct.

The Duolingo course is free and is an ok elementary introduction.

There's a few teachers offering more intensive coursework for people who want it, at a very cheap price. I think the guy I recommended charges $5-10/month and has been teaching for the past 20-30 years.

If you are a self study type, you can buy the Nā Kai 'Ewalu series from UH Hilo Press. These are the standard textbooks for Elementary and Intermediate Hawaiian programs in high schools and colleges.

If you are actually going make some products like shirts or stickers, just keep it simple. This is an advertisement. The message has to be short and sweet and memorable. It should also have an English subtitle since most people don't know and don't care about Hawaiian grammar. I would love to put some stuff up for sale at the gun show but it's only 3 weeks away. Will send a pm to discuss.
