It takes a really special kind of crazy to stab your own children to death.
It's not a behavior seen in nature with wild animals.
My theory is that if wild animals don't do it, then people shouldn't do it either.
That's why I suspect some kind of drug was involved.
Anti-depressants seem to be common in crazy murders.
Maybe crack or fentanyl too.
I saw a pretty good documentary about fentanyl the other day.
It was done by Lynn Kawano at HNN.
you can watch it for free at this link.

I'm concerned because I find these baggies near my house at the kid's playground by the school.
That's pretty messed up.
I can't say if this case falls into this category, but there's a group of murderers labeled
Family Annihilators.
They see themselves as the main member of the family, usually because they are the lone bread winner. Without them and what they provide, the family could not exist.
Having his wife cheat on him and maybe threaten to take the kids can make him feel like his family no longer exists -- himself being the center of that universe. His identity as head of the family has been destroyed.
Breakups are the number one reason for familicide by family annihilators.
Once the family annihilator believes his job as head of the family is over, he may jump to the belief that the family would be better off dead than having to continue on without him at the helm.
He may also have killed his spouse in a sudden rage after she told him she wants a divorce. Killing the children then becomes an at of kindness, sparing them from the pain and suffering of losing both their parents either to murder/suicide or murder and prison.
About half of these men who commit familicide also commit suicide, giving even more weight to the belief that the family would be better off dead than living without him. If he's planning to kill himself, he's doing the rest a favor by shielding them from the "horror" of living life without him.
In the case of breakups, he may feel betrayed and disrespected, and as head of the family, he has the right to punish them for breaking the family up. In his mind, the spouse is always to blame for the breakup -- never the annihilator.
According to Dr. Campbell's research, these killers tend to be non-Hispanic
white males, have access to a gun, a stepchild at home, or are dealing with
estrangement. Ironically, past criminal history isn't a consistent indicator as
they don't usually have a criminal record.
They were a normal family.
A study looking at British murder cases found the most common reason men kill
their families was because of family breakups. These killers, researchers say,
often hold their partner accountable for the family's outcome. There could be a divorce
on the horizon or their kids were taken from them.
