Interesting, never knew we had these courses available here. Rates are about on par w/ the Magpul courses.

Thanks for sharing this Jawdawg, first time I've heard of them, too.  It is encouraging to know we have something like this.

Though looking at the calender page is a bit discouraging..  looks like they do mostly outer island courses, and not that many.

Koa was dealt a harsh blow when the new leadership put the Marine rifle range off limits to civilians.  They ran most of their classes at that location.

What a shame!   :-\   Thanks for the info, Tom.

I'm really curious if that had anything to do with some safety issues brought up by an nco at a past Gabe Suarez course there.

NO! That is not the truth at all. This was an issue for our club when we sat down and spoke to the G3 at KBay.  They are not allowed to run classes at Puuloa because they are a for-profit organization.  The Marine Corps does not condone using their government facility for free to support Wayne Holu and his commerical venture. As a matter of fact, I believe it is against the law.
As I mentioned before the Marine Corps is about fostering positive relations with the community.  We had to organize our club under that same principle.  We welcome all shooters provided that they obey the rules set forth by the Marine Corps to allow our non-profit club to operate on their ranges.

I took a class from them but they never gave me the paperwork necessary to file for my Utah CCW.

I tried to call numerous times but no one returned my calls.

I recommend that no one takes their classes as it seems that they are just ripoff artists trying to make money.

I was just thinking about taking that class thanks for the head's up!   I mainly travel to Nevada/AZ some research has led me to believe i need a state specific issued CCW permit for Nevada.

Just take 8 hours out of your next gambling trip to Vegas (that's what I did).  $150 for the Nevada & Utah CCW class.

Took the CCW class at The Gun Store on Tropicana Ave, ex LVPD ran it.  The only trick is Clark Co (whereVegas is)  requires you to register your handgun within 72 hrs. If you carry in Clark, you need the Blue Card. You have to apply for your non-resident permit in-person-Unlike Utah where you can mail your app in. Couple of weeks later voila, you have your Nevada CCW!

Wish it were that simple here  :grrr:

I don't think non-residents have to register their guns in Clark County....I didn't. I took the CCW course from The Gun Store as well...snuck out for a few hours when I was there for a conference....
