Your achievements and awards during your military career doesn't matter in this particular context.

And that context is, did you LIE about your service in the military?  Or in a nicer way, did you do the joe biden and claim things you didn't do?

And this is the question I'd like Walz to answer.  I don't care to know about Walz's awards and achievements.

And by the way, why did they underreport Vance's achievements.  WTF.

I don't care what people perceive about me - I am part of the Space Guard and my role as a Space Shuttle door gunner speaks for itself. Above and Beyond!

Everyone who enters the military, guard or reserve knows they are volunteering to give up certain freedoms, like where to live, how much money they can earn, remote tours without family in areas that might be dangerous, etc.

The problem with Walz is, he's bragging about his service whenever he thinks it bolsters his point.  He says he carried the AR-15 in war, yet he's admitted he's never been deployed to any combat zone.  He says he retired as a Command Sergeant Major, when he was only in that grade provisionally -- he failed to achieve that rank permanently, and therefore retired as a Master Sergeant,  He's claiming to have retired 2 grades higher.

Words matter.  And lying with your words when you are a sitting governor of a large state and running for the second highest office in the nation matters significantly more.

Yeah, i get that all politicians lie or exaggerate, but too many good men have sacrificed for our nation to let him lie about the things he did in the Army National Guard for political gain.

The Achievement and Commendation medals are the only ones for merit.  All the others are for "being there."

This is very interesting.  Vance getting 2 achievement medals in his 4 years of service is pretty good for a corporal.  Walz got one achievement and one commendation (a higher medal) in his 24 years of service with highest rank held of CSM.  That's low for someone with that many years that got up to CSM.

there was a minor dust-up where one of the wikipedia contributor/editors went in and deleted a major portion of Vance's military awards, I guess to make him comparable to Walz.

I guess somebody noticed that and called them (wikipedia) out on that blatant political bias, and potential election interference.  got caught with their hand in the cookie jar.

they had to (reluctantly) restore his awards, probably with much gritting of teeth and chagrin.

I stopped donating to wikipedia loooong time ago when their left-leaning bias became apparent.

And the worst  part is civilians don't realize awards and decorations carry point values which add to promotion scores.  More awards = better shot at being promoted.

The people who intend to stay for retirement know the game, and they put themselves in for medals all the time to get promoted.  Their bosses are happy to sign the nominations, because it's no work for them, and the officers don't have to compete with the NCOs for rank.  Can't give people raises without a promotion, so a ribbon on their uniform and points for promotion are about as much as they can do for an attaboy.

To try and compare Vance and Tampon Tim only takes one observation.  One is using his military service to push his narratives and lying about a lot of it.  The other is not.  Worrying about who got more, who had what rank, etc. is just deflecting from the issue.
