As far as registrations and voter role purging goes, I don't see why we can't sync voter registrations with drivers license or other ID expiration dates.  Many states look at whether or not a registered voter cast a ballot in the last 2 general elections and automatically purge them from the roles.  Could have moved, died, been incarcerated, or simply opted out of voting.

I think there should be an ID requirement, and the ID expiration should be linked to registration expiration.  If you renew your state ID or license, your voter registration will also be renewed.

It's simple to send out renewal notices for expiring registrations, which would catch anyone who's not renewing their ID (forgot, etc).

These are just examples of how simple a solution could be. Unfortunately, the states are not applying resources to find solutions.  The purges, therefore, have experienced errors by purging valid citizens' records.

So, the question isn't whether or not the roles need to be maintained by purging records for those no longer able to vote legally in the state, but rather the state's are not coming up with proper processes to do a role purge while creating a fall-back for anyone who is at risk of being incorrectly removed.

Find better solutions instead of screaming about the half-ass solutions.  Doing nothing makes elections very susceptible to fraud.

There's a reason why voter registration integrity is such a hot topic.

One side of the aisle wants fair, transparent voting.

The other side wants power and will do anything to keep it.  They want to add smoke and mirrors to the voting equation.

All the while saying the other side is making mountains out of molehills.

Add in all the illegals entering, if they have kids, guess who has an advantage now to get a vote. The party that wanted their illegal parents to come here or the party that wanted legal immigration.

The open border policy, while the dems will never admit it, had an agenda.  For those who are skeptical, just look at what biden did the day he assumed office.

Dismantle all the border policies Trump had in place.

Broke the dam, so to speak.

This is why my 70 year old aunty supports Harris/DNC, well 1 reason anyways.  She claims her dad came to HI illegally from Japan, so had he not done that, she wouldn't have been born.  I didn't get into it with her as she has TDS. But  he came to HI pre WW2. Which means HI wasn't a state, but a US territory. IDK what the immigration process was, but I assume he had to come here from Japan on a ship. Unless he snuck on that ship, which means he hid for a few weeks.  Then once the ship docked in HI, he snuck out and that's if they had some sort of document check.  Back in the Ellis Island days, all immigrants had to do was sign the log and "welcome to the USA".  I can't imagine HI would be any different pre WW2 as there was really no way to check backgrounds like how you can today.

So this is likely to be the mentality of any children born in the US from illegal parents.

I wonder if your aunty thinks we should do away with all immigration laws to allow as many people from every country on Earth to freely come here and live, populate and take resources and jobs from US citizens?  Or should we just not enforce the laws on those who are clever enough to evade detection?

Your aunty believes in open borders from the sound of it.  Would she welcome Arabs, Jews and Nigerians coming to live in her town in unlimited numbers?  Are there enough jobs to support them?

Seems like aunty is like most Liberals -- on paper, welcoming everyone seems like a great idea.  In practice, any negative impacts close to home would change her perspective.

I am going to reply using the same basic argument C.S. Lewis made about something else.

There are people who should not be allowed to vote but I do not entrust to men the power to wield that decision

By the time I would get to this portion of questioning her feelings, she's all wound up and major TDS kicks in. So to keep the relationship, I just remain silent. It's funny how the Trump supporting side has to remain silent and hold their tongue to save things.  This is how you know one is on the correct side of history.
