Any opinions you have concerning diplomacy toward dictators is suspect.

I'm pretty sure foreign diplomacy starts with recognizing a country's government as worth opening a dialogue with.  We refused to talk to China until Nixon visited there. 

North Korea did not exist until the end of WWII.

If that kept Putin out of Ukraine and help stop the North from lobbing shells into South and missile test, then whats the harm?  Is your ego getting in the way of peace? My coworkers wifes home was hit by one of these shells. Luckily, no one was home at the time.  I'm sure some shells hit people.
