I am planning on getting a 10mm if/when I get around to making an Alaska Trip.
Probably a Glock since it is the cheapest...

I got a Glock 40 long slide.  Doing it over again, I'd get a Glock 20 full size with a separate 6" barrel as it's more practical to have.

i went to alaska in august 2022
the one day we went on the river, i got to carry the gun in a chest rig because i have the most experience shooting (despite not owning firearms or ammunition)
compact .40 cal, i think it was a taurus
i was not confident at all, but luckily bear activity there is rare...

Mac
A Taurus?  You know they were setting you up.

“Mac will attract the bear when he shoots it….giving us time to paddle away”

“What pistol are you ok with losing when the bear eats Mac?”

 “A Taurus?”  “Perfect!”

Glock 17 with lots of solid bullets in a mainland standard capacity mag for me. I want something I can get as many bullets as possible in the quickest amount of time and still shoot decently under stress
