Will HPD confiscate or follow the 2nd Amendment?
« on: January 01, 2013, 01:52:05 PM »
Questions to HPD on this forum. Do you take an oath to defend the US Constitution? If they call for confiscation of our guns, will you follow orders or follow the Constitution? In your opinion, how do your fellow officers feel about confiscation?

The SCOTUS upheld the 2A in 2010. So I wouldn't start getting worked up on confiscations just yet. We have to wait and see what kind of support Diane "The Crypt Keeper" Feinstein gets in the Senate.

HPD already does not follow the 2nd amendment in their denial to allow citizens to carry... I don't think they are going to start now..

Well, the right to carry has been left to the individual states to decide - which complies with the Tenth Amendment and federalism. It's just that our state is run by liberals/progressives that hate the 2A, so they have done a lot to limit it.

No one's gonna confiscate your shit.

God damn, worry about the propsed AWB, not some fantasy confiscation scenario.

In other words, the real world has more important problems than your fears of confiscation.

I honestly think that Leatherface is just running interference for Pelosi's magazine ban.  Everyone's going to get all lathered up about an assault weapons ban that's not going to pass, and when it inevitably gets shot down in flames, Pelosi's gonna step right in with her bill "in the spirit of compromise".  I wish terrible things on both of them.

Just wondering how individual LEOs feel about confiscation. An AWB could include forced buy backs or confiscation of "AWs".

Or like XR said, we cab focus on not letting it get to that point. Do what you can now.

why would there be a need to compromise if feinsteins bill dies?  they're in separate legislative branches, and if feinstein's bill dies, pelosi is not in a position to ask for compromise.

that "compromise" play only works if feinstein's bill has a chance of passing, and then Pelosi can say, "instead of that, how about this?"

if Feinstein's bill dies, there is no "let's compromise", as there is nothing to compromise on at that point, only one bill.

why would she be any different from o'bama?
he always says that the republicans aren't compromising, which in his mind means giving in to what he wants
i'm pretty sure that's not what compromise means

that isnt the point.  my point is, in the situation suggested, saying "let's compromise" when there's no threat of an AWB at that point in time is stupid, because there's nothing to compromise on.  there's only one bill, and making concessions on it wont change the dead AWB's status, cause its DEAD.

They are going to confiscate any thing that has become illegal. They already have you address in the system. It will obviously not be covered by the second amendment if a law passes saying that it is now illegal. The other thing is that now you are out of all that money that you spent on it.  :closed:

except that the bill has everything grandfathered.  the only "confiscation" that would happen is when you die.

just like this bill is going to.

At least you hope and pray its grandfathered. It's easier to amend a bill that has already passed than to reintroduce a new bill. They will wait till the current bill passes than push to amend out the grandfathered part. Say bye bye to your guns.

sigh

the bill is so radical anyways, it probably wont make it through congress, and it definitely wont make it through the house.  not with the prohibitions on rifle mounted rocket launchers and other retarded shit.
