Governor Josh Green called Kennedy the worst possible choice for HHS Secretary,
saying his anti-vaccine rhetoric led to a measles outbreak in Samoa that killed 83
children and would endanger children’s health in the U.S.

Kennedy has said that he is not against vaccines but wants them to be more
thoroughly tested and investigated.[237][238] In Thimerosal: Let the Science
Speak, Kennedy writes that he does not see himself as anti-vaccine: "People
who advocate for safer vaccines should not be marginalized or denounced as
anti-vaccine. I am pro-vaccine. I had all six of my children vaccinated. I believe
that vaccines have saved the lives of hundreds of millions of humans over the
past century and that broad vaccine coverage is critical to public health. But I
want our vaccines to be as safe as possible.

The 2019 Samoa measles outbreak began in September 2019.[5] As of 6 January
2020, there were over 5,700 cases of measles and 83 deaths, out of a Samoan
population of 200,874.[4][6] Over three per cent of the population were infected.[7]
The cause of the outbreak was attributed to decreased vaccination rates, from
74% in 2017 to 31–34% in 2018, even though nearby islands had rates near 99%.

As of 20 December 2019, 94% of the population had been vaccinated.[18][19] 95%
is required to acquire herd immunity for measles.[18] Measles is much more
contagious compared to other infectious diseases such as polio, which only requires
an 80% vaccination rate for the population to attain herd immunity.[20]

The outbreak has been claimed to be due to a sharp drop in measles vaccination
from the previous year.[21]

In 2013, 90% of babies in Samoa received the measles-mumps-rubella vaccination
at one year of age.[9]

On 6 July 2018 on the east coast of Savai'i, two 12-month-old children died after
receiving MMR vaccinations.[8] The cause of death was incorrect preparation of the
vaccine by two nurses who mixed vaccine powder with expired anaesthetic instead
of the appropriate diluent.

These two deaths were picked up by anti-vaccine groups and used to incite fear
towards vaccination on social media, causing the government to suspend its
measles vaccination programme for ten months, despite advice from the WHO.

Health Ministry statistics show that 48 of the dead are children below the age
of five.

Although measles deaths worldwide have fallen sharply since the 1960s, the
World Health Organization has warned of a comeback around the world since 2017.

Samoa's low vaccination rates are in part due to the deaths in 2018 of two
children given a wrongly-mixed vaccine.

Measles is a highly contagious illness that causes coughing, rashes and fever.

Although effective and safe vaccination is available, even some developed countries
have seen a resurgence in recent years.

The rise is - in part - due to some parents shunning vaccines for philosophical or
religious reasons, or concerns, debunked by medical science, that vaccines are
linked to autism.

Since the emergency declaration last month, a mass vaccination campaign has got
under way, with more than 58,000 people successfully vaccinated, the government
said.

The epidemic has also seen a surge in alternative medicines touted as cures.
Some reports suggest vitamin products or alkalised water are being sold as
treatment.

Vaccination rates - meaning the number of young children covered - recently dropped
to a low of only 31% in Samoa, compared to 99% in nearby Nauru, Niue, and Cook
Islands.

In part, that low rate has been attributed to the deaths of two children.

In July 2018, two infants died in Samoa after receiving vaccinations against measles,
mumps and rubella, raising local fears over the vaccine itself.

But the deaths were later established to have been due to the nurses mixing the v
accine with an expired muscle relaxant, instead of water.

The two nurses pleaded guilty to manslaughter and were sentenced to five years in
prison.

While I don't question Dr. Green's expertise in the medical field, I wonder how often he tells his patients to eat healthier, make healthy choices, and to exercise more.

Do as I say, not as I do Dr. Green?

I used to look like him.  Seems like the good doctor is at the point where it doesn't matter whether he tucks his shirt in or lets it hang loose.  He will look the same.  It's called morbidly obese.  Came to the point where I made a decision to lose weight and lead a health(ier) lifestyle.

Seems like RFK Jr. talks and walks the talk.

During covid, he never stressed lose weight. Instead he stressed the vaxxx.

Everyone that i know who was jacked up by covid were fat.

My friend whos a respitory RN in the ICU said the same for her patients. Fat is a huge factor.

i regret that my body profile resembles our governor more so, than the incoming secretary of HHS.
