RIP USAID
« on: February 05, 2025, 12:26:42 PM »
We’re now finding out that the government was paying for Politico’s operations expenses and giving millions to celebrities for appearances with Zelenskyy. Plenty more dirty facts where that came well, including the funding of various Soros organizations and initiatives.

My question is if Moms Demand Satisfaction and our local anti-2A expert-for-hire are about to run out of funding as well.

Billionaires got where they are by spending other people’s money, and I doubt that Comrade Alex is going to be so loose with the purse strings going forward.

All I’m saying is that if we can get through the current legislative session with our rights intact, we might be able to switch to offensive mode next year as our enemies will struggle to coordinate themselves in the scramble for new sources of funding.

We would need way more GOP in the house and senate to do any offensive things.  The DNC doesn't like pro 2a bills and with Comrade Karl as the sole decider if a bill gets a hearing or not, it won't.

The national party is collapsing. Their fraud networks have been exposed, and a lot of the major players are about to spend several years in prison.

That means our island pols will soon be on their own with no mainland support, causing many of them to either rush for the exits or work with their actual constituents for once.

And Everytowons lawyer who's fighting the butterfly knife lawsuit charges $3400/hr.  Our tax dollars are paying for this.

but not for much longer.  8)

My guess is at the end of his current billing cycle we're going to see a lot of these cases dropped, and HIFICO will have a field day with an avalanche of new lawsuits.

Time to make some REAL money!

i was watching footage of Congress Critters (D) screeching about how only Congress has the power to spend our treasure, and that trump must follow the budget Congress drafts and votes on.

First, if they want all the credit for all the crap we, the people, are paying for that has absolutely nothing to do with the things we expect to be funded, they are more than welcome to it!

Second, if i were in Congress, I wouldn't be screaming in public that my job is to draft and pass budgets considering we are still without a passed budget in February which was supposed to be executed last October 1st.  Then think back to when we ever had a budget passed without it being an Ominbus bill, meaning there was no real effort to fund individual items, just a blank check handed to agencies who then decide how to spend it.  Doesn't Congress also have oversight responsibilities to ensure programs are being administered responsibly?

Lastly, our budgeting process is a joke.  Congress passes spending bills we don't have the money for, so they borrow the money to fund all those things.  Then when we hit the credit ceiling, they fight over whether or not to pay for the things they already spent the money on.

Those are the people who represent us.  They pretend to be doing a great job, want to stop Trump from overstepping his authority, and can't pass a budget year after year.  No wonder Congress is the only group with lower approval ratings than CNN.

not to mention all the special interest moneys, the hidden pork barrel spending secreted away in the thousands of pages.

as Nancy Pelosi said, we don't know what's in the bill, we have to pass it to find out.  Hopefully those days are coming to an end?  we can only hope ...

I think it is too early to call this agency dead. Though it does fall under the president's authority, the president does not have the power to stop spending that was already approved by congress. He might be able to affect it in some ways depending on how the money was allocated though.

We may see this one having to work its way through court.

unfortunately, regrettable, much to my dismay, I suspect you may be right.  although I don't see how they can specify money to be spent on, for instance, Politico, just to publish disinformation to campaign against Trump.  How that can be inserted in a bill approved and passed by congress critters.  But then, there's Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi, need I say more.

I'm surprised The Hawaii Judge hasn't weighed in more often, already.

We approve our household budget monthly.
If we don't spend it all, the remainder goes to increase payments on other bills.
Novel concept.

This is related to why it would have been unconstitutional for either Biden or Trump to withhold aid from Ukraine. There was a supreme court case about this issue too. I don't know if Trump's team thinks they found a way or threading the needle in a way that wouldn't violate congress' order or if he is just making executive orders hoping he isn't challenged.

USAID definitely needs to be reigned in with their crazy waste of money though. It is angering to hear some of the things we (taxpayers) ended up paying for.

Our lawmakers violate SCOTUS rulings all the time and the constitution. So what's there to stop Trump from doing the same with regard to USAID or Ukraine?  This is what happens when they get away with violating rights or SCOTUS rulings, anyone can do as they please.

USAID was created by executive order by President Kennedy.  So Trump can abolish USAID by executive order.
