Our lawmakers violate SCOTUS rulings all the time and the constitution. So what's there to stop Trump from doing the same with regard to USAID or Ukraine?  This is what happens when they get away with violating rights or SCOTUS rulings, anyone can do as they please.
the dems have proven to be really quick on the trigger to launch impeachment proceedings, probably even if he jaywalked in front the Capitol building.

Thats why someone would have to file suit. But what you point out is why this is a snowballing problem of the executive branch just becoming more and more powerful. Constitutionally the president doesn't even have the power to impose tariffs but congress gave some of the power away and presidents have pushed the boundaries over the years. SCOTUS needs to start slapping down presidents and congress more often.

Do you realize that lawsuits cost a lot of money. Here's an example, for the sensitive places lawsuit, 1 law firm willing to file wanted $100K just to start.

It is possible that the winning party can file for atty fee's, but it's harder if the state just changes the law before the judges ruling.  We have seen this over and over again here. Most recent, butterfly/switchblades lawsuit. The interesting part is that the states lawyer who makes $3400/hr asked for a 7 day extension of the lawyer fees hearing.  It would have been cheaper to pay his minimal fees than request the extension.  Civil rights fees get like $300.

USAID was created by executive order by President Kennedy.  So Trump can abolish USAID by executive order.

Possibly but the funds congress ordered to be spent still technically would need to be enforced. No idea how it would be without USAID of course so it seems like this puts things in limbo and the question of how it gets resolved seems unknown from the coverage I am listening to.

Interestingly though I just found out that the Clinton administration was the first to try and dismantle/reduce USAID.

Of course, this is not the type of suit you or I would just go file on a whim, you would need another government agency or some sort of activist organization, like the ACLU, NRA, etc., to make the case.

ACLU? lol, they don't care about 2a right violations.

NRA is a close second in Hawaii.

Most mainland org's that are bigger don't care about HI.  FPC constantly pops up on my feed about their lawsuits, but they're meaningless to HI.

But we're going off topic now and I don't want to jack the thread. So I'll just leave the above as food for thought.

I know the ACLU wouldn't likely have anything to do with USAID closure, I only used them as an example of an organization that files lawsuits to challenge the government and they are well known. The ACLU is a shell of its former self but thats another topic.

I can't remember if it was USAID or another like entity that but it was shown that they also funnel money to anti 2a groups like MDA and ET. So the hope is by by funding.

That can definitely happen. I was listening on the radio and they were reading an article about how money goes out from USAID to organizations that will implement the "good work" they are trying to do but that would definitely create situations where these third parties doing the actual work on the ground could then implement their own agendas with it.

Remember the random piles of bricks that mysteriously showed up at various locations where a riot was about to occur during the Summer of Love?

Yeah, turns out our taxes paid for that.

when this was going hot-n-heavy, somebody did unravel the forensic threads, back then, and it did point to Soros funding.  It was common knowledge then, they didn't try real hard to hide it.  I remember reading that, not going to bother digging it up.  Somebody found "the receipts".

But this is America, you can choose what you want to believe.
