Vandals are scratching messages into Teslas with a phone in one hand to record the act. It's assumed they will post this to the Internet to add to the terrorism being perpetrated nationally.
The funny part is, these people seem to not know there are about half a dozen cameras on Teslas also recording the crime. I saw a recent video posted on the FB group Stolen Stuff Hawaii where the face of the woman scratching "F**K ELON" into the finish. Another video showed a man walk up to another car and spit on it. I guess there were too many people within line of sight to do more.
I'm curious if these people understand these are not cheap vehicles which will be expensive when they are forced to pay for the damage. i also wonder if they understand many Teslas are owned by other Leftwing Liberals who bought them to be able to say they drive a "green" vehicle.
Liberalism is a mental disorder.
The hard part is that the cameras have to be turned on. This is known as the "sentry" system. It's not automatic. There might be a way to have it automatically on once you leave your car, but I never did this.
Then when someone activates the motion sensor, the horn beeps once and the lights flash once. I find it odd that this didn't startle any vandels away. Or maybe their TDS is so strong that they are clueless.
I'll bet you now that every Tesla is turning their sentry on when they leave their car.
You can also watch live your camera system from your phone from all angles. What doesn't happen is you get an alert for motion on your phone. But to make camera viewing playback faster, the playback system has set points where there was motion invovled, as in someone standing next to your car.
No other car comes with this tech. I can even allow someone to drive my car and use my phone to set up the authorization. So say im in Vegas and my dad has to move my car. No need keys, I just activate if from my phone. I can even set a max speed limit for any user or even a valet.
The camera system also automatically records when you honk your horn and it saves 10 seconds prior to the horn honk. I've used this when I was rear ended. No damage, but when I was hit, I honked my horn. My camera picked up that the girl behind me dropped somethign on the passenger floor. So she bend over to the side to get it. Thats when her car began to move. I guess her foot came off the brake. Used it again when a car in front of me rear ended another car. Honked my horn to save the impact. I replayed it and the owner who was rear ended recorded my vid with their phone from the touch screen inside my car.
