It is good that he covered it.
I think it is ironic they are both designed to do the same thing by the same parent company yet be different in terms of performance. If there was a superior bullet I would expect the company to go with that bullet, not offer two different ones. If you don't consider that ironic that's fine.

You thought wrong. What you are referring to is market cannibalism which is not the case. Some firearms will perform better with one bullet or the other. Notice that the author of the video used ONE pistol. The topic discussed is the effectiveness of the bullets.

Factories produce a wide variety of ammunition (i.e. Sierra TMKs, non tipped MatchKings, moly, non-moly, cannellured etc.) in seemingly similar offerings because they can perform differently in a variety of firearms.
What I didn't get information on in the OP video is jacket thickness.
What is a "superior" bullet? One that has a high BC or one that stops any person with one shot? Is accuracy a factor? There is no ONE solution.

Stop derailing threads especially in these technical posts. Take your bullshit to the Political section.

This will be another needlessly long thread just cause EEF used irony incorrectly and won't admit it.

I guess it's impossible for 1 company to make different products.  That's just impossible. (sarcasm/irony irony irony).

These brands/types were not under the same ownership until 2024.

The ammo was developed and marketed long before the new parent company, CSG, acquired The Kinetic Group.  Gold Dot ammo was released in 1991, and HST ammo in 2002.

I posted all the pertinent details already so you could educate yourself, but here you are spewing more nonsense.

Do the math.

Sorry, I didn't see your post explaining that purchase.

Vista Outdoors acquired the brands CCI (owner of speer) and Federal from Alliant Techsystems' sporting goods division in 2015. So if you are going to educate me, perhaps you should have your facts straight.

Please show me how your facts occurring in 2015 are in any way relevant when:

What's the point of this reply, unless someone just wants the last word.

The last word is a given with insecure trolls who only want to argue nonstop.

They're only meaningless to you because you don't understand them or are letting your ego get in the way.  Everyone else knows what's up.

You said they weren't owned by the same brand until 2024. That is false, they were owned by Vista since 2015. The issue was never when the bullets were invented.

Again, how is any of what you said relevant to your original comment regarding "irony?"

Answer my other question: do you expect every investment firm that buys more than one company in the same sector to merge them and manufacture the exact same products the exact same way?
