The irony is that body brands are owned by the same company.

What is a "body brands" and how is that relevant to bullet types? Same argument can be made by comparing Sierra TMKs versus regular MatchKings or moly vs non moly bullets.

Typo, was supposed to be "both brands". They are both owned by Vista.

Quote
Irony is a situation or expression where the intended meaning is different
from the literal meaning, often highlighting a contrast between expectations
and reality. It can be humorous or emphasize a deeper significance in
literature and everyday life.
Quote
Examples of situational irony:

A fire station that burns down
Winner of a spelling bee failing a spelling test
A t-shirt with a “Buy American” logo that is made in China
Marriage counselor divorcing the third wife
Sending a Christmas card to someone who is Jewish
Leaving a car wash at the beginning of a downpour

I'm not seeing any irony either.  Two brands/lines of ammo owned by the same investment group and being compared against each other isn't ironic unless you don't understand irony.

Federal HST, first released in 2002, is basically an updated version of Federal’s immensely popular Hydra-Shok ammo.

When Speer introduced Gold Dot in 1991, it was a revolutionary step forward in bullet design.

Five small arms ammo brands, including Speer and Federal, were acquired by Czechoslovak Group (CSG) in November 2024.

The Kinetic Group was born in 2024 when the former Vista Outdoor Sporting Products segment was rebranded and sold to CSG. The Kinetic Group engineers manufacture the most accurate, powerful, and reliable ammunition in the world, including Federal, Remington, CCI, Speer and HEVI-Shot.

Under the umbrella of The Kinetic Group the ammo brands of Federal, Remington, Hevi Shot, Speer, and CCI now belong to a Czech holding company that’s best known for dealing arms in the international military market. CSG acquired the Kinetic Group for $2.225 billion.

You would think that if one was significantly better then they would make the other one better instead of having one product make the other one look inferior. Unless one of them is considered a discount brand?

No, that was not the point of the video. The test was measured in penetration, velocity and not marketing. The author of the video mentioned the assumption that since both loads were from the same company that owned both brands it may translate to identical powder charges and other factors besides the bullet to establish a baseline.

Your explanation does not exemplify irony.

Ironically Coke Zero, Diet Coke and Coke Classic don't taste the same -- because "same owner."

It is good that he covered it.
I think it is ironic they are both designed to do the same thing by the same parent company yet be different in terms of performance. If there was a superior bullet I would expect the company to go with that bullet, not offer two different ones. If you don't consider that ironic that's fine.

Geez you guys. There is no "magic bullet". Y'all know that. You can debate all day, but you still need to practice.

This will be another needlessly long thread just cause EEF used irony incorrectly and won't admit it.

I guess it's impossible for 1 company to make different products.  That's just impossible. (sarcasm/irony irony irony).

FMJ.  All the way.

I'll tell the court of the banana republik of hawaii that I killed the man in self defense with the ammunition I use for recreational target practice.
Sometimes you gotta know when to save your bullets.

sometimes it's fun to just beat the pickleball back and forth if you really don't have something more productive to do....like grab a box of ammo and go practice.
I suspect that's the case here. LOL
Feel free to go beat your pickle....it'll make you feel better.

These brands/types were not under the same ownership until 2024.

The ammo was developed and marketed long before the new parent company, CSG, acquired The Kinetic Group.  Gold Dot ammo was released in 1991, and HST ammo in 2002.

I posted all the pertinent details already so you could educate yourself, but here you are spewing more nonsense.

Got lots of downtime at work.

Already beat the pickle, it took less than 1 minute.
