Since "they" decided to ban steel targets from the rifle range, I imagine there are many who have steel targets just gathering rust we could donate.

Maybe start an AR500 drive to collect donated targets?

Donate? They've been charging users for decades. In addition to all that brass they sell at the gun show and sell at recyclers, that part of the range was supposed to sustain itself.

They feed you, too, don't they?

The silhouette range isn't the only activity that charges for use.  MPPL competitions in the open bays, skeet/trap, etc.

Hey Darmok / slick. Show me where the fuck did I mention anyone twisting my arm?! And what is this shit about "feeding me" what does that have to do with anything? I'm just pointing out the fees that they charge people on a City park. They are not like the clubs out in the action bay. They permanently occupy the range. The clubs that operate in the action bay like MPPL have league fees, target fees etc. and they certainly don't have a presence like the silhouette club. Can anyone go and shoot in that part of the range now? What and where is the charter they have with the City? Does the City audit their books? I know people know people and this community is no different than the liberals you all complain about. I've had people come up to me just to argue, talk shit and ruin my range time. I haven't used that part of the range since their brass policy was pointed out to me by one of their "friendly" volunteers.

if anyone would like to attend the silhouette meeting, it is this sunday at 1100 at the silhouette range. I'm sure they can use all the help they can get
I think they are going to elect officers and go over what the plan is to re-open

The silhouette club has expenses to pay for. The steel targets are not cheap to replace / repair. They also have to pay
insurance costs. The city does little to help the club. I used to be a member and I have first hand knowledge of the long
list of troubles faced by the club.
If not for the club, this area could be like Clementine, lost and gone forever.

I hope something positive comes out at this meeting.

Here's the main points of the meeting today:
Planning to re-open end of June. Today elected officers and board of directors. Still some work to be done, plan is end of June to start shooting steel again. Public can only shoot 50 yards. Club members can shoot 100 yards.
Still need to buy more AR500 steel, and fix stuff in the office. Now at the end of Sunday will need to move all targets to the side, out of the way for LEO'S to use range weekdays. Saturday morning move targets back on range. Will update when I hear anything new
Overall it's good news. At least it's a step forward  :shaka:

Public can only shoot 50 yards. Club members can shoot 100 yards.

Why only club members at 100 yards? If I donate a bunch of AR500 targets, can I shoot at 100 yards? Shooting pistol out to 100 is what made it extra fun…

May have something to do with changes to the range layout.  The club shoots their matches to 100 yards on the left side.  I'm guessing there will be a new 50 yard berm on the right side to meet safety compliance.

Just a guess.
