Is it just me or is anyone else really impressed by the hypersonic missile technology? It’s crazy seeing something with that kind of payload moving so fast.

I'm more impressed with the intercepter missiles.  It's like hitting a bullet with a bullet.

In light of the thread title I'm also impressed with the unconfirmed report of two of Israel's F-35 Jets were shot down by Iran.

Can anyone confirm or debunk this claim?  Supposed to be the most advanced fighter jet yet Iran managed to shoot two of them down.

If true it shows that no matter how expensive and cutting edge the weapon technology, nothing is guaranteed.

Hypersonic missiles, Patriot defense systems, F-35 Jets.

All expensive toys that will be used in the upcoming, soon to be in your neighborhood WW3.

F35s are very stealthy from the front, but less so on the sides, and vulnerable from the rear aspect.  And radar can lock on to very stealthy planes at close distances, 5 to 10 miles.  So it's possible.  But most likely Iran propaganda.

There are reasons the F-35 has been called The Penguin.

Several reasons actually.

It's a quite long and obscenely expensive list.

Israel attacks Iran with precision.  Targets are targets that threatened Israel's existence and confirmed by statements of their Iran's leaders.  Iran wants Israel wiped from the face of the earth.

And what does Iran do in retaliation?

Mass attack on Israel.  With no regard as to what or where they are bombing and who is being killed.

A sign of a true uncivilized nation whose leaders are equally despised not only from the world, but by their own citizens.

I’m no fan of the Israeli apartheid regime, but the Iranian people would be much better off without the Mullahs in charge.

Objectively speaking, when you have Jews who practice one religion and Arabs who practice another, isn't segregation of Israeli-Jews and Israeli-Arabs an expected result?

As for the West Bank, that, too, is more based on religion than race, even though race pretty much predetermines their religion?

I don't see the situation there as one of "apartheid".  That term was specific to South Africa where the white minority created a legal system that favored the minority over the majority -- i.e. non-Whites.

When you look at how the Arabs will only be satisfied when Israel is destroyed and all its Jewish citizens killed, what's the alternative other than giving your own people an advantage?

I don't see it as apartheid a much as segregation.  We're seeing the same from minorities in the US creating Black- and White-only dorms in colleges, neighborhoods that are almost all foreign "refugees" from the same country, etc.  Segregation is not apartheid.

We should have segregation in the military.  I don't mean racial segregation.  Thank goodness that has been abolished.

I'm talking gender segregation.  Have women corps.  Not only in support and logistics but also as combat troops.  They've shown they want to fight on the front lines so we should let them fight.

I'm confident they can fight.  Problem is if they would be able to drag a comrade to safety if their comrade was a typical large male that typically dominates front line troops.  With equipment a typical front line male soldier will weigh close to 300 lbs., something even male soldiers have a hard time dealing with.

With all women front line troops they would have a better chance of taking care of each other in the battlefield as their statures are smaller.

Sorry I drifted off subject. :stopjack:

Yeah that's the sales pitch. We won't know for sure what's going on until AIPAC is registered under FARA like it's supposed to be.

To me they look like a glorified military base riding on a sob story that's wearing pretty thin on most people.

Some interesting perspectives I came across today:

If the illegals want citizenship so bad then will they gladly sign up for ww3 or rush for the exits?

Will watching hypersonics in action have an effect on the golden dome strategy? If China releases thousands of those things then Honolulu will still be destroyed.

The extensive use of smuggled drones and phone/car bombs shows that the supply chains we count for our survival are in fact our greatest vulnerability.

Illegals won't fight WW3.  If they were that dedicated, they would rebel in their own country for a better life.

It's not just about intercepting all of the incomming missiles. Hawaii may get destroyed, but China would exhaust their ballistic missles and won't hit the US mainland.  And China knows the US, and allies, would retaliate with even more destruction.

Another interesting take:

Why would Iran give up their weapons after what we did to Gaddafi?

Are you saying Iran is now in the same set of circumstances as Libya was?

Not sure i follow your logic, given that Gaddafi was assassinated by rebel forces in his own country.  He himself took power in a military coup 40 years earlier.

Yeah that’s the version approved by the state department

Another version might be that he gave up his nukes, and 8 years later got impaled by nato backed rebel forces.

I'll wait for Trump to release that file before I dive into that rabbit hole!

I'm just wondering how Libya giving up their nukes resulted in their dictator's assassination?

Makes no sense to me, especially when his death allowed Al Qaeda to gain power there.  Not something the CIA would be in favor of .... would it?

The attack on Benghazi, Libya, which resulted in an Ambassador and 3 other Americans' deaths, happened 11 months later.  I wonder how that FBI investigation is going?

I don't know much about Israel and Iran besides that Israel is concerned about them having nuke capabilities. So they did a preemptive strike on Iran.

Trump tried to be a neutral 3rd party to make  deal between the 2 and it didn't happen.

Israel would be fighting a war on "2 fronts" now and that's not an easy thing to do.

Zelinksy did mention a few weeks ago that 20,000 anti drone missiles meant for him, got re-directed to the middle east.  He seemed upset and I guess OPSEC isn't a thing.  Then Trump was asked by a reporter why government family members for personnel in the middle east are being told to leave and he replied with a "you just have to wait" type of answer.  Then Israel strikes Iran a few days later.

With Russian/Ukraine, we began to see a more "modern" war between 2 countries.  Our wars in Iraq and A-stan were against a 3rd world type of enemy.  Now we are seeing what unmanned things can do and missiles.  Now even more between Israel and Iran.  An Iranian drone takes hours to reach Israel.  I'm sure they're tracking it along the way.

I hope the US stays out of it and I hope Iran doesn't do something stupid like strike US bases like how they stated they would. The ball is in Irans court.

I hope Iran's leadership and infrastructure get's blown to kingdom come and the people of Iran revolt and form a new government.

The people of Iran for the most part want to get rid of all those asshat leaders of theirs.

Then the world can concentrate on Pakistan and do the same to them.  I'm sure the Pakistani people are sick of their leaders also.  F*ckers were saying they wanted to nuke Israel.

Just the idea of using nukes makes Pakistan leaders PLICKS.  (Chinese accent for ding-a-ling)
